  1. My ex husband and I took out a loan in 2003 with Ocean Finance/ Endeavor Personal Finance, we paid a Single premuim PPI on this loan of £775. We recently wrote to EPF asking for the PPI back and received the following letter: We write further to your letter dated 20 August 2012, informing us of your complaint. We are aware your complaint is regarding the Payment Protection Insurance policy (PPJ) purchased at the time of completing your loan through EPF. You will recall that you approached a credit broker, Paul Newey trading under Ocean Finance & Mortgage Ltd, who acted as your agent and sold your PPJ policy. At no time was Paul Newey an agent of EPF Limited and nor was Paul Newey an Appointed Representative ofEPF Limited. EPF Limited has therefore no liability in respect of anything alleged to have been done or not done by Paul Newey. Accordingly we must reject your clai:"-n--l-- that EPF Limited has any liability for the actions allegedly taken or not taken by Paul Newey. Should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Services Department on 0845 602 8230. Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, who will be pleased to help. Yours sincerely Bernie James Department Manager Secured lending Centre Endeavour I have successfully claimed back PPI before but am at a bit of a loss on what to do next. I still have the original credit agreement but have no idea who to ask for the ppi back?? Any help would be gratefully received!! Thanks you Emma
  2. Hi, no offer letter yet, my husband managed to speak to someone at HSBC today and they confirmed thats what they were offering, they said the offer letter was in the post last week and we still haven't received one???
  3. I'm amazed!! My husband spoke to HSBC and they have upheld our complaint for MPPI, the only problem is they are offering us £1500 + interest, and we were asking for £2900 + Interest, I was wondering what would happen if we rejected their offer, would we have to go through the FOS or would they offer us another sum? Many thanks in advance
  4. Hi, thanks for the quick response, it wasn't a single premium, but a monthly one. We have already put a claim in, but cant seem to find many mortgage ppi claim successes! He was told at the time of taking the mortgage out (1995) that he wouldn't be approved without the HSBC PPI, I was just little worried because it was verbal and we haven't got any proof?
  5. Hi all, just a bit of advice really? My husband has put in a claim for mis-sold mortgage ppi with HSBC, at the time of taking out the mortgage, he was told this was compulsory and when he found himself unemployed he was told he wasn't covered, and ended up having to sell his property. The sale cleared 2 days before HSBC were due to default on his mortgage. I wondered how likely this was for us to get his ppi back and also how long the claim takes, we sent the claim in on the first week of August ? Also had a letter back from Vanquis saying that they had telephone transcripts saying he agreed to PPI, at the time of applying for this card he was self employed, can I proceed to the FOS on the basis he was self employed or should I contact Vanquis? Thanks in advance

  7. Morning! Many thanks for all your help, I printed off the Fos questionnaire last night, my husband has taken it to work this morning to post recorded, but he has left the covering letter and spreadsheet here! I can't get hold of him, can I post these separately to support his claim? Also is it worth sending a SAR request to Hsbc? I'm a little concerned we don't have any paperwork for the policy? Many thanks in advance
  8. Hi they are shown individually, there are quite a few years worth! Do I need to send a cover letter with the questionnaire? Also can I claim interest on these payments? Would it be worth my husband phoning Hsbc too? Sorry to keep asking questions! Thanks again
  9. Hi, I have all the bank statements with the payments on them, unfortunately we have lost the box with all the mortgage paperwork in it. I've just got the Fos forms, do I just fill them out and send to hsbc? Hsbc has cost us lots of money over the years, we are still struggling because of the thousands of pounds worth of bank charges they have charged us over the years but j heard Hsbc were hard to get money from even if you apply under financial hardship. Thanks for replying so quickly
  10. Sorry meant to say we sold property in august 2006
  11. Hi all, my husband took out a mortgage with hsbc in 1995, he was told at the time of getting this mortgage that the repayment protection insurance on this mortgage was compulsory and without it, it would not be approved. In 2005 he found himself unemployed and was told that this insurance would not cover him. He was told at the time of taking it out it would cover everything. It turned out that it just covered sickness and injury. We ended up getting into arrears with the mortgage and were forced to sell before the property was repossessed. We have been in rented accommodation since. Would we be able to claim back? Any advice would be gratefully received.
  12. Hi, am hoping that somebody can help me. I am currently starting a DMP because I have very little disposable income each month, and I was going to try and reclaim my bank charges on a closed HSBC account, the charges amount to £3100 and was hoping to claim under financial hardship and Im not sure where to start?? I was also going to try and claim back repayment protection on my husbands old mortgage, he was told at the time of his mortgage that he had to have repayment protection or he wouldnt be allowed the mortage...over the term of the mortgage he paid just over £2000 for this. When he lost his job he was told by HSBC tha he wasn't covered which meant that he had to sell his flat to pay off the mortgage, they were 2 days from repossession when he finally completed the sale. Can I claim this back? I'm not very financially savvy! So Im not really sure where to go from here. Hope this all makes sense! Any help, advice, comments would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance Emma
