I've just gone through the court process and entered a judgement by default today, as EM never defended the claim although they responded (to the court) that they would. I think that was just a tactic to buy time because to my disappointment I've now discovered that they've gone bankrupt(through this forum). Does this mean their Receivers will not consider me a secured creditor since I have a court judgement backing my claim? Please comment, I've just gone from a high to a low in the past 10 mins! I'm being owed £500.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I've read everything everyone has to say about EM. Unfortunately I fell for their [problem] last July by taking out 2 contracts. They rejected my first claim on both contracts because I sent them in two weeks late even though I never received any written contract, I just told (verbally) to claim every three months, nothing about a two-week deadline. Anyway, I was very cautious with my second claim and that went through on time. This was in January and till date, I haven't recieved anything from them Last I heard from them with regards to that, I was told they ran out of cheques (since February!). My third claim in April was rejected because once again it was late, even though I sent it about the same time as the last claim. I contested that and I was told not to write them emails anymore but to send letters to a po box in portmouth. Thanks to this forum, i found their address and as at tonight, I have submitted a claim to the Small Claims Court on money claim online. (I used 5c The Tanneries...) They owe me #480 and my next claim is due in the next couple of weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and I will update on the progress of my claim.
