Hi there i am really happy i found this website because i have needed help with this for about 6 years now. Well i have a disability which is a injury to my spine i had some damage to it which makes me walk on crutches, its hard some days and its not so bad the other i usually have tight muscles or joint aches, i find it hard to walk for a long distance e.g 100 metres than i need to sit down. So i do recieve the higher rate of Mobility and middle rate care from DSA. So in 2002 i applied for a motability Car and was accepted then i was 19 years old so most of my so called friends were happy not thinking anything of it. We use to drive around with the ones that had there liscence because i didnt have my liscene then but orignally my brother in law got the car out for me. So when my brother in law found out that my friends are driving the car he took his name of the list so me not knowing and excited about all the attention from all my so called friends we carried on driving to get to the point one of my friend had a crash i was soo scared that i didn't tell my family and took it to the garage my self and spoke to Motability and than i got a visit from a Insurance guys and i told him the truth that my friend was driving and he said well your friend is not one of your drivers on Motability so all the cost was passed on to me £5900 and since than i am not allowed to get a car again till i pay that but even than i have to write a letter explaining that i am older now and would please like to get back on Motabilty. I found it soo hard since than to go anywhere when it rains i always fall over and slip because i put so much weight on my crutches so i try not to go out when its raining so basically i don't go out much ( We do live in England ) i really would love some advice on this and help to get back to being mobile.
