  1. too late i already rang them i have no idea whether they went to court, as i wasn't around to read any letters but i haven't received anything in 9 years from anyone
  2. i was never one for doing things the easy way lol ....... i'd managed to keep myself totally debt free for the last 9 years, and everything feels like its crashing down
  3. so basically, if i send them a letter saying sod off its statute barred go swivel they will leave me alone? i kinda like that lol yes i live in england thanks ...... i'm smiling a bit more now
  4. thanks, i put it here by accident, got carried away with myself i'm trying to smile, it's just hard right now L
  5. they have now had the dongle for 2 months though .... and they have already said they wont replace it i only had the damned thing for 2 months, and i have since gone on to O2 broadband, because of the problems, i cant afford both ..... i think i've made a big boo boo haven't i but i'll get the letter off tomorrow, thanks L
  6. thanks i'm not sure about that, the only proof, is that i have the same name, and one of them knows i have the same date of birth, i have only been on the electoral register for the last 4 years since 1999, and i have had no credit in that time, i checked with the credit reference agencies ..... that there was nothing before 3 1/2 years ago does that letter not kind of confirm that it's me? i'm confused
  7. the bit inside the phone where the cable goes in was loose, the dongle thing had been in a holder on the side of the pc all the time, but the day it stopped working, i attached it to sons laptop, by removing from the other end, and it wouldn't work so i looked and it was loose and yes i kept the sim card they have also stopped my service till i pay them ...... they are trying to charge me for 1 day (£15) and then the following month, and for this whole time, they had the dongle in their posession but they want £45 for the 2 months and i only used the damned thing for 1 day now i keep getting phone calls from a debt collectors 3-4 times a day, that either just goes quiet, or transfers me to an answering service .... i gave up after 20 mins the first time, now i just hang up i really really want to cancel the contract, is it possible?
  8. thanks, i wasn't sure where to put it, i haven't had any contact off the ahlifax for 11 years, which is who the loan was with, and the midland since i moved in 1999 ....... the debt collectors concerned, (not sure of their names offhand )but apparently they are companies that buy debts? have just looked at some other posts, the midland/hsbc one is lowell portfolio, but they then passed it on to someone else, i'm still not sure of the other one L
  9. hi, i signed up to an 18 month contract with the 3 mobile broadband thing, after 2 months and 1 day, the mobile unit broke (the attachment for the cable was lose, and stopped working .... not my fault) i rang them and they said send it back, which i did, then i got a letter saying i had broken it and it would cost me £30 to repair it ...... it was clearly a manufacturing defect ....... i told them i couldn't afford to have it repaired, and wanted to cancel my contract, which they refused to do, then whilst they still had the mobile unit, they are still charging me for a service i cannot recieve, 1 cos they have the unit, and 2 cos they have disconnected it and 3 cos the unit is broken can anyone tell me where i stand, i really don't need the hassle, and want to cancel the contract, but they are still charging me what can i do? Many thanks L
  10. hi, I have been having problems with a couple of debt collection agencies, i had a loan in 1994 for home improvements .... cut a long story short i had a lot of problems, depression, with hospitalisation etc. my house got reposessed 11 years ago, and i decided to move to a different town, my solicitor advised, that i should just move, as they wouldn't be able to trace me ..... so i did, and it took a lot of pressure off (the mortgage debt is not a problem) at the new house, i also had a bank account that was very overdrawn, and i left that house after 18 months, which was in 1999. i have lived at my present address for 3 1/2 years. recently, i have been getting letters from debt collection agencies regarding both these debts, the letters said, that if i did not contact them, they would assume their information was correct, and persue the matter. so i contacted them and told them that i had never lived at the address they provided, even though my name was the same, one of them tricked me into giving him my date of birth which obviously is the same, i denied any knowledge of what they told me where do i stand? i am terrified that they are going to come to my house or take me to court, and take all my stuff, i am worried sick, and can't sleep, i am a single parent(of an 18 year old, whos money stops in september when he goes to uni.... so i will be on single persons income support only, plus a small amount for being long term sick) on sick through depression and agorophobia, and panic attacks ...... and i am at my wits end please could someone give me some advice as to what to do, i haven't any spare money to pay them thanks L
