  1. So owe around £80,000. With about 700 to 900 spare to pay creditors. I have no assests. Does that help? Thank you for taking the time to help me out.
  2. So do you think that a better route would be to write them directly and seek reduced payments/frozen intrest etc?
  3. Thank you that is good to hear. Any advice around if I should IVA before I go or after? How will the companies I owe money to react if I leave the country and then approach them for an IVA? I am using a free company to setup the IVA.
  4. Hello everybody, I have been reading the site for sometime now as I hope to move over to Canada soon. Problem is that I have severe debts and I am going to enter into an IVA soon to deal with the problem. Looking forward to starting again in Canada having learnt a lot of lessons, and looking ahead for a new life, once I sort out my commitments. Wanted to understand if anybody else had been through this (or know of other people) and if it would be better for me to start the IVA before I have moved or do it from Canada after the move (which I understand I can do as long as I keep a UK bank account to send me repayments to)? Or have any other bits of general advice? Intrested to know how a possible CCJ given in the UK could effect me in canada? which is a concern I belive if the negotations with my debtors do not goto plan? I am not looking to use credit ever again apart from maybe a mortage once I save up a depost to buy a place in Canada. But will the IVA back in the UK effect my chances to get a Mortgage in Canada in a few years time? Many thanks for your advice. FBB
