  1. We sent a complaint letter to Link Financial after finally getting the default removed from against my wife's name, 18 months after first telling them it was fraudulent and numerous phone calls, letters and faxes requesting details of the fraudulent account from them and getting no response. Their response to our complaint letter was that they wouldn't be offering us an compensation because without them we wouldn't have known about it in the first place, so we should be grateful to them for telling us about it, also that they hadn't charged us for their help in clearing the debt. There was no mention of why it took them 18 months to do anything about it, or why they continued to send us letters demanding payment even after a police letter telling them not to. They are a complete bunch of w..kers. Should we take it further or just be grateful we got the default removed??
  2. Hi Been to the mortgage company with all the evidence to prove that Link/Barclaycard gave out a fraudulent card in my name and they said they still needed a letter from link stateing it was fraudulent, anyway phoned link with our mortgage adviser and they said that the debt had been written off and would send a letter out stateing this (by Wednesday 11th June)they also told this on the phone to our mortgage adviser  so now they have told a third party. Now they admit this is not me or my debt is there anyway i can claim compensation from either Barclaycard or Link for all the agro they have caused me??? Thanks for all the help and advice
  3. Thanks and will do that ASAP at least nobody can forged your thumb print, this type of ID should be used alot more.
  4. Excellent, i am awaiting my credit report from experian and will do this ASAP, sorry to be thick but what do you mean by thumb print?
  5. As far as i know (from what Link told me) the card was taken out in June 2003 and the default was put on in September 2004.
  6. Hi I am sending Barclaycard a letter drafted by my solicitor by special delivery in the morning with all the evidence i sent to link so will have to wait and see what they say.
  7. Hi Thanks for all the advice, i have been on the phone to Link AGAIN and i keep getting different answers from everyone, one said the debt had been removed from my account and thier fraud dept was dealing with it, then the next said that it had been removed from their payment cycle and are passing it back to Barclaycard fraud dept, the next person said they cannot remove it from my account and are passing it back to Barclaycard as it was them who put the default on in the first place, Link refuse to comfirm these details in writting to me so i can show the mortgage company and proceed with my mortgage. I have seen a solicitor today and he drafted a letter for me to send to theses stupid people, but this all takes time and i need to sort out the mortgage otherwise i could lose the house. He also said i could sue them but they can tie these cases up for years which would cost me so much money that i do not have, can anyone suggest any answers. Many Thanks
  8. My wife has been the victim of identity fraud. (Somebody took out a Barclaycard in her name from her previous address) She has had letters from Link Financial demanding instant payment of the debt. We first heard from them in December 2006 and wrote to them straight away telling them it was nothing to do with her and heard nothing until March this year when we got another letter demanding payment. On friday we finally got a copy of the original credit agreement with Barclaycard on which no ne of the details matched my wifes other then her name and date of birth. We then faxed them 13 pages of evidence to prove her signature, where she lived at the time this card was taken out, the fact she bought her car at the same time as this card was taken out. We are in the process of getting a mortgage and cannot as the default on this card is preventing us from getting it. Is there anything we can do to speed Link Financial up so that they clear the default from my wifes name? Also ca we sue Barclaycard for allowing the card to be taken out in the first place and can we sue Link for letting this drag on since 2006 when it could have been sorted out then?
  9. We have been to the police and got a crime number. We also sent Link Financial a letter from the police saying that all their future dealings had to be through them and it did no good. Link Financial will not accept that it is not anything to do with us. Even when they finally sent a copy of the original credit agreement they attached a letter demanding immediate payment of the debt. I'm getting very tempted to go to their office and stick the evidence right up someone's ....
