  1. I work for the transport department of a large company in the motor trade, although we don't have to show a profit as we are their to provide a service to the rest of the company we are currently making a slight loss. The problem is the transport manager has now changed the bonus system to try to cover this, our old system was on an hourly basis of 60 hours a week over a 17 week period. The new bonus now works on a Target system of moving a set amount of cars (movements) over the 17 week period, This would be ok if we had any way of controling the amount of cars we move but we don't. We have no say in the runs that we are given and the company can't garentee that they can give us enough movements to make the bonus. On top of that if you take a holiday in the 17 week period you have virtualy no chance of making the bonus. The company is still charging customers at a rate of 95 pence on a litre of fuel for delivery which is now nearer to £1.10. My truck uses nearly 1000 litres of fuel a week maultiply that by 20 for the other trucks in the company (you do the maths) thats just one of the reasons they are loosing money. My problem is can they give you a bonus system that they know most of the drivers won't be able to make.
