  1. we bought a caravan back in 2005, the thing is we bought the caravan in sept 2005, the salesman told us the payment that we would have to pay each month, we went forward with this, we went on holiday, when we were there we had a long think about the amount we were paying and asked the lenders[when we got home] is there anyway that we could extend the loan to reduce the payments as it was going to stretch us a bit they said they could do this if we took out payment protection which we did, because we thought well at least the payments would be protected anyway. the second aggreement was not signed on business premises as my husband is self employed they visited him on property in which he was working. i have been told this was illegall This is were is gets better,, we should have really looked at our credit aggreement before hand because the originall 1st aggreement already had ppi on it [we certainally did not know this as i had life insurance to cover us] all they did is move figures within our ppi, which in the first aggreement we never knew we had, do we have a case to reclaim this ppi as i think it was unfair any comment will be welcome
  2. just wondering if anyone can help us we had to take out a loan through unforseen circumstances. the apr was appalling as they said we had adverse credit. we have actually paid of one month of our loan which was secured against our property, which we could do nothing about, we have just had today, someone from our business banking offering us a loan which we have got [even did a credit check] all we have to do is sign the forms it was even unsecured and also he said to us that there was nothing wrong with our credit history !!! so this new loan will save us in the region of £9.000 also safe guard our home just a bit worried about the early repayment fees the actuall loan was for £15.000 does anyone know what kind of fees we might have to pay. in the long run we will be better of anyway, but any advice would be well recieved thanks
  3. i would like to inform people about the pitfalls of buying a static caravan, we bought one back in sept 2005 we paid £38.000 for it, it was top of the range, i kept it in pristine condition even having the plastic covering on the dining chairs kept it really clean, never let anybody use it except my familly, we had to sell it due to my husband relocating to the south with his job, also the site fees went up £900 and still going up so we thought we would just have to cut our losses, you were also not allowed to rent it out, we knew this anyway, we had problems selling it private they made it awkward anyway, never got back to us for 3 months after we informed them of our intentions to sell. we got back £12.000 and that was supposed to be the book value, so i would like to tell people that you will loose a lot of money buying a caravan and would like to inform people of this BEWARE THEY ARE RUTHLESS
