  1. A friend of mine had this problem, he got a tool for removing the inner workings of the tyre valve and went out and let the tyres down, just half a turn so it went down slowly but wouldnt stay up even when they came out with a pump! It got to the point where it was too much hassle to park there and they stopped doing it, especially when he let two down so they couldnt change the wheel. Sometimes the police wont help and the person causing the problem seems to get off on causing others hassle, my friend reasoned it best to take matters into his own hands, not that Im suggesting you should do this.
  2. You overstayed? Well thats terrible, I didnt realise it was something so serious that you had done! In that case you deserve all you get!! I hope they send the bayliffs and take your cat..........
  3. It sounds like a good money making scheme, I want one now, where did you get it from?
  4. From my experience Nottinghamshire police only have little devices to play with so have to hold on tight.
  5. None taken I know Nottingham Road as the stretch from Cinderhill through Basford and beyond, where the 'John Barleycorn' pub used to be, which is where Ive seen the police parked using ANPR, Ive seen them all around that area. The OP did also say the person who saw the officer was driving his bus from Alfreton along the A610, so that would imply a bus route past Cinderhill which sounds like the Trent Bus, R1 I think, that bus does not go past the Natwest you spoke of as it would be deviating from the route that bus takes.
  6. Whats with the Im not trying to score points against you.... The fact is that the road may change its name from Nottingham road, Maid Marion way or whatever, but its still the A610, it does not stop then start again further up the road. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A610_road I think I may have my wires crossed over the 'Nottingham Road' part....
  7. The A610 runs through Basford, it runs from Maid Marion in Nottingham all the Way to Ripley. The name of the road changes, Nottingham Road, Nuthall Road, but its always the A610. Will keep an eye out for the "PALS"
  8. I forgot to add that that entire stretch of road through Basford and beyond is covered by SPECS cameras so can't see why they would sit in a car checking speed.
  9. I use that stretch of road daily and have seen police cars stopped there, but is your driver sure that the officer was holding the said device or was it attached to his vehicle? The ones I see have the ANPR cameras fitted, I have never seen them pointing anything.
  10. I was going on this........... http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116101
  11. There are endorseable and non endorseable FPNs, I was under the impression a numberplate offence like this was non endorseable.
  12. I too was under the impression that this offence was a fine and no points.
  13. I hope you get the phone back but dont hold your breath.....
  14. I tried to leave them some feedback but was unable to, it turns out they edit feedback anyway!
  15. I heard last night that they have stopped the clamping following lots of complaints, I also heard some not very nice things about the bloke who was doing the clamping, but at least for now it seems they are safe down there.
  16. All the roads are called 'Private Road' followed by number, like private road 1, private road 2 etc, which implies they are indeed private, but I was not sure about the street lights as Im not an expert but it did cross my mind. I think your advice with regards calling the council is something i will do. They couldnt clamp me anyway, I have a blue badge!
  17. We had this problem when I was running the national helpline for nacsa and our host was 'invited' to take our website down by the government. We relocated the site using a host based in America, they couldnt threaten them with legal action.
  18. Forest Chav is correct, and it looks like any other road. Its a big wide road which ultimatly leads nowhere and had industrial units along it, petrol distribution depots etc, you couldnt stop anywhere else other than on the road. You could park a lorry on the road and not be obstructing anything as the road is wide enough for 3 lorries abreast. Clampers have crept up behind cars parked on the road and clamped them with people sat in their car eating a sandwich! To all intents and purposes it looks like a normal road with street lights, there are yellow lines in places but not all along.
  19. Whats been happening is that instructors have been clamped whilst doing show me/tell me at the side of the road, there are signs up on lampposts but they are not exactly clear. I was led to believe from people on here that clamping is a remedy for trespass, not sure what problem is being caused whilst parked at the side of a very large road though.
  20. Hes at Sutton doing check tests at the moment, should have had mine last week but it got cancelled.
  21. Write to their office, but only to say you will not shop at their store again.
  22. Make sure you return to Morrisons and tell them you now intend to shop elsewhere in future.
