  1. I bet he is just laughing at us all knowing that there may be something we could do through the legal system but we don't know how. He gets warnings by the law etc. but he still carries on. I think we should do what citizens of other countries (e.g Thailand, Tibet, China) do and that is to protest right to the man himself, all we are doing now is speaking and not being heard! I have been lucky enough to downgrade my contract with O2 to £15 a month after 3 months as I told them about Express and they did that out of good will. But I am still fed up that he can still carry on trading! We have his Address, we can protest right up to his front door and he can't do anything, he doesn't own the pavement! I live in London and I would be more than happy to drive up to his place and stay there all day, at least we can let all his neighbours and everyone around there know what he has been doing to all of us! We need to get our own back on him! If it makes the news it would really be the icing on the cake! I would be more than happy to start the facebook group for all of us together!
  2. I just found this page on Express mobile. Thought you all might want to see for yourselves the person responsible for ripping us all off. http ://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2008/07/free-phone-from-express-mobile.html P.S. Please enter the 'http' before the rest of the link. I had to do this as it wouldn't let me post links up.
  3. I just got off the phone to try to get to the bottom of this [problem]. Heres how it went: *I called O2 customer services, told them the situation and they tried to help. They were trying to get to the point of sale and they found that it was done via Carphone Warehouse. They told me that if i was mis-sold the contract deal then the contract would be in void. They told me i couldn't reduce my tariff until 9mths time. Was also told that if i was to end my contract i would have to pay the 18mths in full. Anyway they transferred me to CarphoneCarphone. *Talked to Carphone, told them the situation (had to tell them twice - ditzy girl) They checked their systems and there is no mention of any cashback deals on there. They traced the point of sale to Vanilla mobiles which they forwarded me to. *Told Vanilla mobiles the story and they know all to well the situation with Express mobiles. They even say themselves they don't have a contact number for them and that they are now only dealing with customers via email. I asked her if she knew then why is carphone still dealing with them? She told me carphone deal with over 400 affiliated companies which they don't know about. Surely carphone have to take some responsibility over this as they connect you to O2. But apparently they do not take any responsibility as they are a separate company. She advised me that the best course of action to take would be to send the copies of the invoices to them and inform the they have 14 days to respond. If they do not, write to Trading Standards and file a case as they will only process it if you have tried to make contact with them and given them 14 days. So heres how the order they trade: Express mobiles > Vanilla mobiles > Caphone Warehouse > O2, Orange, Vodaphone etc. 1) The course of action i am taking will be to pay my third bill (only been with them over a month but have paid twice already) 2) Send them the three copies of the invoices with a 14 day deadline to respond. 3) If they don't respond write or phone Trading Standards and take it to a small claims court. 4) Go to the bank to cut off my Direct Debit (You can do this via Internet banking also) just before my forth payment. The network provider can't do anything to get hold of your money. You also have good reason to protect you money. I can just cut off the direct debit now but there would be no way to fight to win the money i lost. So i have to wait and pay my next bill knowing that it is all a [problem] just so that Express mobiles can 'do me wrong' so to speak and then i have a reason to cut off the Direct Debit and file a case against them to win me back my money. So all in all i stand to lose three months line rental costs (£135) but at least this way you wont have to worry about the monthly costs while you wait for your claim to be processed. This is just one way of dealing with the problem. I hope this was of help to others in the same situation. Sorry for the long post.
  4. Hi I am another consumer who have been lured in to a contract deal through express mobiles. I am fairly new just into my second month into my 18 month contract with O2. A guy called Kyle Birket was my salesman. I did call them and ask for Kyle and he came on the phone so didn't think anything of it. I tried to contact them recently to find out any deals for my friend who wanted a contract phone but they didn't pick up the phone the whole day which i thought was strange. Anyway i tried their website which says its out of service until the 28th of March. It is now the 3dr of April and it is still not up. My girlfriend told me about one of these scams so I did a search for express mobiles and found this site. Needless to say I was shocked to find so many who have been scammed, It was always in the back of my mind that they were a bit dodgy but now it is confirmed. I have just emailed Watchdog to support the rest of you's! If it will take so long for the courts to settle this and the phone provider cannot cut off your contract, can't we just cut off our direct debits directly from our banks? If the network provider take us to court as we breached their contracts, can't we just tell them to produce the contracts as mine was a verbal recorded contract with express mobiles were Kyle clearly states the 'cheque back' deal! Wouldn't we have a good chance at winning in court?
