  4. The branch manager said about the hotel email in front of her staff and my son and his friend The customer service guy said the same about the copy statement to my son.Would that be slander ? He also asked me to ring my card company and get them to confirm transaction while he listened in to call on a three way system I refused because of security reasons but just give you an idea of the standard of staff this company has
  5. Hi DD That is right The hotel booking had to be done on Internet because of best price etc I have given them the email confirmation and invoice which says fully paid, but they said I could have done that myself. Which is why I provided the copy card statement but as earlier post they are now saying they need colour statement This is why I feel like a criminal and would like to be compensated if possible to hurt them in the pocket for the stress it's caused me It's all getting ridiculous now they're just moving the goal posts all the time This has been going on for over 6 months and I have had enough of the delaying tactics from branch manager and customer service
  6. Sorry for it being so vague and confusing The third party is a hotel The company is a travel agent It has no connection to hotel apart from messing up a booking They agreed 50% split as compensation as I was stranded and had to get another hotel in resort The original holiday was not paid by credit card so no rule 75 unfortunately
  7. Having a problem with a company who have said they would pay me compensation for costs I have incurred . They promised to pay me 50% of costs which I have in writing. I paid the bill for something to a third party with my credit card. The company who now owe me 50% asked for a copy of my card statement which I got from credit card bank. It is a black and white printout with all details of payment to third party. The company are telling me they will not accept it as they want a colour statement . The card company have said that what they have sent me is standard copy statement and can't provide what the company is asking for ie colour copy. I am now thinking of small claims court can I ask for compensation as company have suggested that I may have made statement myself on computer What other costs could I add to my claim against them as I feel as they have implied I am a criminal. This company is a big firm well known on the high st which is why I am being vague about details. Anyone help please ?
  8. Hi all hope someone can help with some advice.A relative is on holiday with some friends in spain. On arrival they found that Thomas Cook had booked them into a hostel instead of a hotel of the same name (dont want to name hotel ) They have no rep in resort and have been in touch with TC branch where they booked holiday. The branch have said that they booked a hostel room not a hotel room and got what they paid for.I went to branch today to try and sort it out and was shown the screen where it says ???? hotel on the booking.TC state that the paper work sent out to my relative said ???? hostel and my friends should have checked it .The girl who did the booking admitted that it was her mistake, but then went into the back of the shop and was not seen again. I need advice on where they stand. The price they paid differs from hotel and hostel price by a few hundred pounds more each. They have had to book into the hotel at their own expense and TC have said that they will pay them 50% back when they return home. They have done this under duress because the hostel is they feel unsafe and dirty ,ants are crawling everywhere etc.I had to book the hotel on the Internet and pay on my credit card cos they don't have funds or cards with them (they are teenagers) I feel that they have been abandoned by Thomas Cook and left to sort themselves out.My opinion is that TC should provide them with the accommodation they booked and paid for as the pric difference shows it was an obvious error on their side. Would be grateful for any advice given.
  9. Nice to hear from you again Keefyboy Hope you are well
  10. could you define what benefit of disabled driver means please nystagmite
  11. Her car is getting old an needs replacing She thinks motability is a good option for getting a new car on lease ,cheaper than buying
  12. Thanks keefyboy and BBM for your replies .Keefyboy sorry if i sound a bit daft but but could you clarify for me that our son can drive the car as a normal family car as long as my wife doesnt need it for her use at that time ? My wife has a car at the moment that is owned and insured by her .So son is on her insurance and has been able to use the car to drive mother around and go to cinema etc The motability car will be for the main use of wife but because of her medical problems she would prefer to be driven on her bad days Her own car has stood on the driveway for days sometime weeks not used.thats why she put son on insurance to ferry her around Could you explain what needs to seriously considered before putting her son as named driver on the motability insurance please Again sorry am a bit of a pain but just asking questions for my wifes peace of mind Thanks again for your patience
  13. Hi all sorry to activate this thread again but need a bit of help . My wife is thinking of getting a car on the mobility scheme and putting her son on the insurance as a named driver along with herself .She suffers from fybromyalgia and arthritis also had a knee replacement and is waiting for other knee to be done The reason i give some medical history is to back up her need for her son to drive her more than she will drive herself due to her conditions. To doctors, hospital appointments, her mother, sisters etc Our son lives with her an cares for her but claims no benefits. I work long hours so he looks after her What we need to know would the advice given on this thread given 2 years ago still apply. If her son got a part time job would he be able to use the mobility car to travel to work ( he would not be self employed ) because he gives mum some rent, contributes to houshold income ? Would he be able to use car , say to go and see friends etc so he would be able to get back home quicker if mum needed him for whatever reason ? Hope big boss man or keefyboy are still around they seemed to understand the rules of how the scheme works Thanks in advance to anyone who can help
