  1. Thankyou, I've just forwarded her the CCA template
  2. Hi all, I was wondering whether anyone knew who Time Retail Finance was or who they deal with at all? My friend's got a £900 debt through recently and Buchanan Clark and Wells are dealing with it, yet she doesn't know what the debt is for and BCW wouldn't tell her! Thanks
  3. Yeah she got the disclaimer from the court, filled it in and sent it back, but apparently she didn't fill it in 'right' so they were meant to send her another one to complete and they never did and then she got the CCJ. Oh I forgot to ask - what's a CCA?! Thanks!
  4. Hi all, my friend has received a CCJ for owing CL Finance £883.72 which she thinks was for Debenhams. This is where it gets confusing! She had set up a £30.00 per month payment with BCW Group and paid her first instalment. This was for a debt she owed to Time Retail Finance/Thames Credit Ltd? She believed this was the Debenhams account and was paying it off. Then she got the CCJ through for CL Finance and the debt's gone up to £1008.72 because of court costs. She phoned up BCW Group, the Court and Thames Credit Ltd this morning to see why she had received the CCJ when she was paying it off with a payment plan and found out that she shouldn't have been paying BCW - because they weren't the ones who owed the debt! Now she's really unsure who the hell CL Finance are and what the debt is for, she assumed it was all for the same thing (Debenhams). Is there anyway she can find out before she pays someone else off that she doesn't actually owe any money to?! Thankyou for the help in advance! These debt collectors are so underhand!!
  5. Hello everybody, am a newbie here and although I've tried my best to look through the threads and stickies I am unsure if my question has been answered so I am going to try here A brief summary - my partner received letters from Lowell demanding payment for a Barclaycard he had when he lived at a different address. The problem is, he doesn't think he owes Barclaycard any money as he only had a standard account with them a few years ago but no overdraft or loan or anything and he has never actually lived at the address they have the debt for, although they have his correct name. They have been phoning for days constantly all day and night and eventually, we changed our number because we couldn't stand the harassment. They would not tell my partner what the phone call was about, they just kept asking him to confirm his address, which he refused to do. They think he still lives with his nan which is where all the letters go and she must have given them our telephone number because they probably used underhand methods of asking her! Does anybody have any advice on how to tackle this at all? Could somebody have used his identity? Thankyou x
