  1. ''An application form is proof of only one thing- You applied for a card..Nothing more, nothing less. It is a long long way from being any sort of credit agreement.'' What is the differece between a 'credit agreement' and, an 'application form' for a credidcard or store card or a loan etc? Regards, Homer
  2. Hi Scott, I will wait for their next letter then I will do so. Is there any action I can concerning them obtaining my new address? ...Data Protection Act etc!!! Thanks!! Homer

  4. in the last letter they said: 'if we don't hear from you: if you don't contact us to agree a suitable repayment plan we'' have to move your account to the next stage of our collection process'. Do I have to worry bout this statement? Do you think they just testingthe ground? Are theu even sure that I really live at this address? How did they find out I recently move here? I am puzzled...really! Thanks Homer
  5. Hi Scott, Thanks for the reply! So the best option, in my situation, would be to send the letters back to them! Do you think they could apply for some sort of court order for recovery etc? Thanks
  6. Hi all, What a wonderful forum! I have been reading since this morning (on and off) I have a better idea now about Cabot business! But I need some ideas for my particular case, please! Well, I recently moved address, and then I received a letter from Cabot (I preumed the rugular letter No 1 out of the standard series). I discarded the letter, as I thought it was just those scams. In the fisrt letterthey had actually advised me to stay available on a certain for them to come to discuss etc...! I have now received the 4th or 5th letter ( I have discarded the rest just keeping the last one). I am puzzled as how they found my new address, since I have moved about 3 times. They debp they are alleging dates probably about over 6years from a company I may have had some business. But they was never informed of my change of address. They are also writing my surname wrongly (omitting one letter). I am ignoring them because I dont want them to know that I am receiving the letter. My wife saying she would phone and tell them the person they are refering doesnt live at that address, or just sending them back the letter stating the same. could you please help me make some sense out of this! Thank you
  7. Hi All, As you may have noticed I am new here. I am in similar sort of situation too with Cabot. In my case: >I moved from that address since about 5 years (when I had the store card). >they just sent me a letter claiming the are acting on behalf of ARG card services. In their fisrt letter (which I discarded already) they wrote that they have have been informed that I have moved to this address (present address). >However, in between I lived at a different 2 addresses for the past 5 years >they are writing my surname wrongly (letter missing) >Does the statute of limitation apply? > how did they find out that I just moved to a new address? >How can I get out of this mess? Please help Thank you all
