  1. Morning all, last sept (2009)my landrover suffered a massive suspension fault..was at work at the time, so had it recovered to local (home) garage, where it was repaired circa £1,000. Genuine landrover parts. A month ago, driving down the m5, guess what? Suspension went again. had it recovered to local (to work) landrover dealer, who repaired it. Took 3 days (had to have hire car as live miles away) cost £860 for repairs. Went back to first garage, who are now saying Landrover will refund me for the parts, some £500, but I'll have to bear the cost of the labour. Shouldn't they be recompensing me for that? Bit confused over laws on this one as not had experience before.
  2. Its a Homserve claim, and they reckon they have completed the job - but their idea of complete is, to say the least, shoddy. The values they spout in the press and on the website don't relate to real life. 24hrs later and I've not even had an acknowledgement. Why doesn't that surprise me?? Thanks Emma, I'll send via recorded snail mail next.
  3. thanks Lex, I've emailed via the web form, I've emailed and faxed my complaint to the Ombudsman, I've phoned the complaint in to admin...but have a sinking feeling that this is going to be a LONG haul
  4. Having the experience from hell with Homeserve, who have a VERY worrying attitude to what constitutes an 'emergency' or a 'repair'. Particularly as they are targeting the grey market - so more vunerable people. Left with a stopcock that doesn't turn off (not an emergency), a leak somewhere (if it isn't pouring down the walls it isn't a leak) a water bill 10 x normal. But none of this is an emergency. They tied tape around the stop cock and left. Nice.Anyone got any managers/directors email addresses??? Please??
  5. Well, I've just had a call from them, with an apology and a full refund of the charges. Which is great...but if I'd have believed the call centre, I'd be a tad poorer! So what happens to those poor souls who don't escalate the complaint? Hopefully they will re-train the customer facing staff!!
  6. Hi, I paid all of the balance apart from £90 which was covered by the credits. Well over a minimum payment!! I don't understand the interest part either!! But they won't explain in detail. yet!! Have emailed the ceo as a start.
  7. Dear all, I wonder if you can advise. I have a credit card with Halifax, (ipoints) and have done for a number of years. For the most part I pay off my balance in full, every month. This month, as I knew I had credits coming through, I paid £95 less than the balance due. Before the due date, the credits did hit the account as expected. However, Halifax have charged £93.85 in interest. I rang them, to be informed that credits don't count as they aren't refunds, they are account adjustments. What??? I spoke to a manager, who said the same. When I pointed out that:- A) Their website specifically states that customers should NOT overpay so that an account is in credit and B) Does not say anything, at all about credit 'not counting' The charming manager said that they don't have to disclose that, so they don't!! Appalling!!! So, is there anything I can do? They have told me not to write in and complain, as they have there own process and it will 'go wrong' if I take the untoward step of writing in myself. Not that this will stop me.....but anything to add?
