  1. Thanks for the useful information. I agree that this is typical behaviour one would expect from clamping companies. Frustrating none the less to have your own car removed from your own private parking bay! They have indeed displayed posters, with required fees and telephone numbers etc. This firm was contracted by the management company to take over from a previous organisation. I was issued with required permit, but along with several other residents did not anticipate that cars would be clamped at 05.00am on the first day of operation. Therefore 5/6 residents were caught out not displaying permits. The parking space was purchased with the flat, it is on the deeds to my property. I find it difficult to see how anyone has the right to remove my vehicle from my private property, irrespective of what signs or permits were displayed.
  2. I live in a residentail block of flats, each of which has a private off street numbered parking bay. A new clamping company took over recently, and at 05.00 on the first day of service clamped my car. The car was parked in my own private parking bay at the time. 6 hours later my car was then removed and taken to a private car pound. I had to pau £400 to get it back. Although I have every right to park in my own private bay, the car was not displaying the correct permit for the new clamping company (they had not been explicit that they would commence operation so early on the first day of service). They have turned down an initial appeal, so do I have any grounds for legal action? Does the fact that my car was parked on my own private property (the parking bay is on the deeds to my property) suggest that this clamping organisation were trespassing when clamping or removing my car? Any advice appreciated.
