  1. Hello, where I live is a house with a lock up shop to the front of it . I have been renting the house for almost 12 years and the shop for just over 6 years. It is privately rented but I would be interested in buying the property and I know my landlord would sell. The value I would estimate is in the region of £145000. Getting together some sort of deposit is not a problem. My issue is that looking at my income and doing the calculations that building societies / mortgage lenders do, I fall far short of what I would need to borrow compared to the amount they would lend. My rent is £550 per month and the shop is £400 per month so I am currently paying £950 per month. I am certain that mortgage repayments would not be more than this. As over the past 12 years I have proven that I can afford this amount are there any establishments around who would look at affording me a mortgage on the basis of my proven rent payments ? Thank you in advance for any help or advice
  2. 5 Years On After hearing nothing for the past 5 years and ignoring their threats of county court etc, today I receive a statement of account from them showing the amount I still owe !! I plan to ignore this at the moment but my worries are now rekindled. It looks like another name change has taken place as this statement is from Link Financial Outsourcing
  3. Oh well, Looks like I will have to face whatever they decide to throw at me in the way of courts and knocks at the door cos I ain't got a clue what to do now Thanks Ven
  4. Well, it seems their ugly head has re-appeared. Throughout this year I have received 2 or 3 letters similar to the one mentioned in my last post. I have ignored them all but today I have received a letter from them informing me that they are immediately commencing recovery of the alledged debt. They are also informing me that My data will be passed onto their internal asset investigation department My account will be approved for recovery by way of a judgement secured secured in my local county court, and The debt will be transfered to an external fee charging debt collection agent who may call at my home Worried and concerned ?? Yes, I am Can anyone in the know afford me any guidance on what my best action may be please. Bear in mind that over two and a half years ago they failed to comply with my request of a copy of the credit agreement Any advice at all as to whether I should sit tight and see what happens or if I should actively do anything would really be greatly appreciated Thank you once again in advance Ven
  5. Thats great Angry Cat, many thanks for the information. greatly appreciated. The letter informed me that I was in arrears by £15 !! Dunno where they get that from but I think my ex has still been paying them (stupid cow !) so maybe thats why I also got the letter. The text was asking me to ring and quote a number which I obviously haven't done. I will wait and see what there next move is first but I do appreciate your suggestion that I should CCA them Will let you know any further happenings Regards Ven
  6. Yes Angry Cat, thats it Asset Link. I think it is the same company as the 'LINK' logo is the same. Still wondering if I should do anything or maybe ignorance and staying quiet is the best policy at the moment ?
  7. Not too sure off hand as I'm at work and the letter is at home. From memory it was something like Action Link or Link Action. I will check when I get home and post it correctly. I am obviously assuming it is a change of name. i suppose it could be a 'different' company within the same building that has now 'bought' the debt LOL
  8. Suddenly out of the blue I have received a letter from Link yesterday asking for payment and today received a text message from them asking me to contact them. Am I best to ignore these ? Should I write to them explaining their failings ? or would that make things worse ? They seem to have had a slight change of name but the address and reference number is the same. Yep, they have me worried again now !! Help !! what should I do ? Thank you in advance, Ven
  9. Taken your advic thank you and uploaded it to photobucket. This is the link....... Orange Statement picture by venjada - Photobucket
  10. Thank you Locutas and Human Writes for you thoughts on this. I didn't realise that the upload was so small, but the general formatting of the statement and appearance just don'tlook right or proffessional Orange would not have to supply a letterhead. Any old Orange bill or letter can easily be altered and some other piece of paper with a statement on it poorly attached and photocopied to make it look like it was from Orange. Obviously I will give this some thought before deciding upon which avenue to proceed along
  11. As requested please see uploaded scan of document. I'm sure you will soon see what I mean Thank you once again
  12. Hopefully someone may be able to give me some advice on this problem. My son had a mobile phone contract with Orange during 2004 and 2005. In 2005 he was posted to Germany as part of his army career, where he has stayed until August this year. I was not aware but he never terminated his contract with Orange and now First Revenue have sent him a demand for just over £600. This is the first he has heard from them since going to Germany. I wrote a letter for him to them claiming no knowledge of the debt and asking for them to prove their claims What they have supplied is a photocopy of a statement of account. The thing is though this photocopy just doesn't look right. It looks like someone has got or even made a badly formatted statement and then laid it on a piece of Orange letterhead paper before copying it. This is quite evident as the body text of the statement is no where near in line with the printing on the actual letterhead. In my honest opinion it looks like someone is trying to pull a fast one, more seriously though, surely this amounts to some sort of fraud ? I personally and honestly feel that that this document that they have sent is by no means a copy of a genuine document ( even Orange are not sloppy enough to print their statements on a slant !!) What I am asking for is any advice as to who or where to go with this and what action could I possibly take I thank you for reading this and if you can offer any advice or help it would be very much appreciated
  13. Nooooo !!! Not heard a thing from Link for about 8 months now then suddenly out of the blue today they ring up chasing me again !! I told the 'LADY' that she should check back to see where they themselves have broken rules, regulations and laws and with reference to my letter to only conduct correspondence by letter and not telephone. Must say I am quite shocked now and really don't know what if anything I should do. They were in breach for failing my CCA request. they have also disrespected my written instructions for them not to phone me. Any advice on what I should now do would be more than greatly appreciated Thank you in advance Venj
  14. Thank you for your reply Rudy, it is greatly appreciated. Obviously I don't want to go rocking any boats but at the same time I don't want to sit idle if there is something I should be doing. If there are any further advances I will post back Thank you all who have helped me so far :-) :-)
  15. Another month on and it has ben a month of silence. I have heard nothing from Link at all. I must say in some ways this worries me !! What I am asking now from anyone who is familiar with these situations is this ......... Should I sit tight and do nothing or should I be actively persuing anything further ?? So far......... Any further advice really would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance Venj
  16. I cannot believe though that they never even acknowledged receipt of my request......How poor and unproffessional of them !!!!
  17. LATEST UPDATE I sent my CCA letter to Link on 26th January by special delivery. I also requested in my letter that they stop the phone calls, which to my surprise they did. Well, 12 working days passed and I heard nothing. By my reckoning, and allowing a couple of days for them to receive my letter, 30 working days have now passed and I have still heard nothing at all from them. What do I do now ? What happens with what they have claimed now ? Do I have to do anything more or do I just sit on the fence ? Thank you in advance for any further help and/or advice that is offered. I am more than happy with how far I have got to date and obviously as I feel that maybe I am winning now, I don't want to let anything slip Best Regards Ven
  18. My ex dumped this one on me and I don't have a clue how or where to contact her now, not that I want to. But now I am happilly married again I just want to get this out of the way. Obviously I want to sort it out as cheaply as possible and also preferably with courts. When they do finally get back in touch I think I will slowly increase my offer and hopefully get them to agree to a F&F that is considerably less than they are asking for
  19. No prob Volvo. I will keep updating as things happen. I must say that since I sent my CCA letter to them last monday and also requesting them to stop the phone calls, I have heard nothing at all from them.......maybe a case of the lull before the storm !!!! :o
  20. Oh right. Thank you for the info Boro and many apologies Volvo. I thought it may have been some sarcastic comment regarding my actions!! Once again, sorry for the mis-understanding and thank you for taking an interest in my problem Regards Ven
  21. I have CCA'd Link Financial and now await them producing the goods. I received a reply to my first letter, which incidently I had to send twice, thesecond time being recorded delivery. Their reply rejects my offer of £625 as full settlement !!! Just a blunt rejection stating that the amount required to clear the debt is £2997, a figure which strangely is about £500 less than what they first told me that I owed them. As I really do want to put this behind me should I increase my offer or should I be patient and sit tight ? Thank you Ven
  22. Thank you once again Tomterm8. So I need to CCA Link and SAR FNB Will get these things done and report back results Many thanks Ven
  23. Thank you Tomterm8 for you time and for your thoughts and suggestions. I believe that my EX made an arrangement with FNB which she kept up until 2001, then there was a period until 2004 where she paid nothing and since then has paid Link £15 per month. I presume that Link aquired the debt 2003-2004. Because of the periods that payments were made I really don't think that a period of 6 years has elapsed Thank you Ven
  24. Thank you for your reply Boro. We had a new kitchen fitted and this debt is from the finance arranged by the kitchen company through First National. I think that have been charges added, yes. Hope this helps Thank you Ven
