  1. I doubt that they would want me back I certainly wouldn’t want to go, I sleep longer and better these days and earn far more than I ever did. I have recruited for a DCA’s in the past so you can add hypocrisy to list. Incidentally it’s my intention to post a typical interview for a candidate when I get the chance, should prove why you should never ever call a ruthlessly trained collector who has one goal to hit target and cause misery in the process, in a perverse industry that gives them free range to do this. As soon as you dial you've already lost, making the bastrds write letters is so funny and such a great idea, which proves a DCA can be replaced by a machine unlike other human beings. And with regards to the post above you still obviously don’t get it credibility is not really what I’m after. I think everyone should agree this thread has run its course. Let’s get on with the business of assisting and offering advice to folk, who need it. If you want to continue these rants (I’m certainly enjoying it, I’m having to justify myself far more than I ever intended) why not open another thread ‘why we hate the moneycheatingexpert and all he stands for’. I promise not to contribute. I'm droping the signiture not because it offends but because I need the space for something else. moneycheatingexpert 8-)
  2. hi first off it's not you they are after so don't panic. did there letter include 'we instruct a debt investigation officer to visit you'... and does it include a premium rate number to call These letters never fail to amuse me. First off thats not going to happen. there are two reasons why you should NEVER ring them one is its f******g expensive and two why would you want to talk to some low life who thinks he can tell you what is or is not acceptable proof. did you inform council tax of the move? You really do not need to prove anything to these idiots? I think there is a letter template on here for telling them to sod off and leave you alone for a debt that is clearly not yours. if there isn't write to them and tell as much, you don't need to prove anything to them if its not your debt let them try and prove otherwise and i'd like to see them attempt to collect a debt that is not your then they really would be trouble moneycheatingexpert
  3. did you get it in black and white that paying £3000 would effectively pay the debt? moneychaetingexpert
  4. Yes thanks apart from the slight hangover and the barrage of posts from people who clearly don’t like what I’m doing, it did make me smile, whilst munching my cornflakes though. I think the decent people on here would prefer you paid back your debt to M&S, rather than avoid it. I’m sorry to say. I will say that the M&S was by far the hardest it helped that I had a converted store card, but I have to say I also had problems getting them to refund the CC charges as well, they sent me (and I’m not joking) a huge envelope that must have cost £5.00 to post. Would have made absolutely no sense to anyone who didn’t have knowledge of the banking system. I hope they’ve stopped trying to baffle people trying to get there charges refunded. I feel I should apologise for my earlier manner (which some people on here still comment on) but you really have to stop feeling that this debt thing is crushing you its every bit as manageable as people on here say it is and you are not short on advice (maybe too much advice) but nevertheless advice you can use to take these jokers writing the letters to the cleaners. Finally, I really do think you should get yourself legal representation with regards to a separation, it’s foolish to believe legal aid will cover it, especially for a matrimonial case and it is highly unlikely even if you are claiming a benefit and have no house to sell. A solicitor will give you 30 minutes or longer if they’re decent of free consultation, you can use this to decide a next course of action. Get yourself on the LS website or YELL. The humble DCA is nothing to worry about they are worse than the stuff you scrape off your shoe they yap like little dogs but they can be silenced with manipulation, cunning and heavy handed letters or in my case phone calls. DO NOT RING THEM EVER, I’m going to say this again DO NOT RING THEM EVER It I achieves absolutely nothing and they are far better trained than most people to use this tool to their advantage. I do it merely for fun, you don’t need to. moneycheatingexpert
  5. And the best part is I’m not even out of first gear yet. On a serious note (which is the first and last time you will ever hear this) I do challenge anyone to fish out a post of mine where the advice I gave was untrue. I would be the first to hold my hands up and admit it was inaccurate if that was the case, personally I don’t think you’ll find one. In fact I know you won’t. Maybe you could argue the questionable nature of the answer I submit but nevertheless accurate information. It’s probably worth mentioning before I am formally hanged I want it known that prior to one of my other posts being edited (which I fully agree with the moderators decision and have now withdrawn my offer), I’d offered a free Legal service to someone which my colleague would have charged her £55+ VAT. Whilst I may upset, wind up and infuriate a minority of you for the most part my intentions are strictly honourable to people seeking help. My basis for posting is if I know of a solution I’ll post if I don’t I won’t. Getting people in such a rage, well I can’t claim responsibility for that solely moneycheatingexpert
  6. I wish i had time to reply, but someone is going to have a field day with this one. moneycheatingexpert
  7. Well… Fred basset if you really are the lovable dog from that newspaper that only middle aged people with a mental age of 70 read, I’m glad you disapprove, really I am, I’m even happier you’re not alone, with luck others will join you. As you gathered making friends is not the plan but giving sound debt advice most certainly is! Showing people that the DCA’s are to be abused, laughed at, blagged, ridiculed and even avoided is definitely part of the plan, something I will continue to do and hopefully be judged on. 40+ posts left to date. You should read some of them you’ll see I really do know exactly what I’m talking about. I’m sure you’d be truly shocked by some of them. I had my reasons for posting the thread you transcribed all will become clearer in time. I probably should clarify a misleading fact it’s 15 years in total not 25 I apologise for that. I'm not that old. As much as this must not sit well with you, I can assure you I am indeed ‘LLB (Hons)’ I know it’s a disturbing thought ‘they’ll let anyone in these days’ but I worked real hard to get here you would not believe and of course the massive debts which I EDITded using my using my insider knowledge. The DC industry in this county is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future and the horrible reality is they lie, cheat, lie again, cheat some more and steal hard earned money from people far more vulnerable than me who really can’t afford it. They will continue to abuse this right solely based on fear of laws that simply do not exist. I will along with many other people rebalance the odds doing this in my own unique style until a moderator takes me out of circulation and I am forced to other options. I’m sure our posts will cross again and I’m bored justifying myself, so just read my posts they are full of sound stuff. More to come from…. Moneycheatingexpert 8)
  8. I’m just back from the pub, probably not what you want to hear, but I’ll try and keep this sane. Sure there is a lot of rubbish in this thread, actually quite a lot when I read back and possible a bit of power tripping, not from me though wouldn’t know what the f a power trip was so let’s break it down. 1. Scary letter from DCA attempting to get us to P our pants. 2. Don’t panic they can’t do sh*t they know they can't but they hope you don’t know this either. 3. Use the letter templates found on this site and write letters to each and every creditor. Explain what you can afford and include a budget break down and make the payments. There is really nothing else they can do to you if you are making payments to them you can afford. 4. I also think in your case you should contact CCCS because they will do a lot of negotiating on your behalf. Make it the first thing you do Monday morning you sound quite nervous about all this and I think it’s a positive step. Incidentally can someone shorten ‘The Dave’ thread and sticky it I think it’s a great resource and very funny. moneycheatingexpert 8)
  9. in theory yes but you try finding one who will take LA for matrim. cases Also consider the house profit after sale etc etc and etc Getting a free divorce with legal aid is quite tough but i will happily post a howto next week if enough people complain moneycheatingexpert:cool:
  10. I don't believe Robbies will have bought this debt. Anyone want to comment, please They do of course but mostly thier range of letters are simply designed to cover all the bases. If it was bought it will have been bought very cheaply I would guess that they were simply managing the debt. I also think its funny they could not produce the original agreement and they now have no power to do anything other than wash their hands of it. I'd sit tight see what doesn't happen. Nobodys gonna kick in the door, not in my lifetime. moneycheatingexpert 8)
  11. No I think there inhouse kays collections and its not been farmed out to DCA yet, found this while slurping my coffee. Shop Direct Financial Services Ltd looks like they fell foul to Advertising Standards Authority Issue The complainant thought the ad was irresponsible, because it encouraged young women to spend excessively on a credit account and get into debt Thats got littlewoods/kays etc written all over it. moneycheatingexpert
  12. Why Equidebt is going for the bad with £50m Sep 5 2005 By John Revill A Warwickshire debt recovery firm is set to launch an acquisitive spree after being handed a £50 million cash injection. Royal London Private Equity has led the fund raising transaction for Equidebt in a deal advised by BDO Stoy Hayward. With consumer debt at record levels the extra capital will enable Wellesbournebased Equidebt to pursue purchase opportunities within the financial services sector. The funding from RLPE enables Equidebt, which employs 120 people, to buy more bad debts from banks and other lenders. RLPE has taken a majority stake in Equidebt, alongside founders Bob Scott and Jan Mosiewicz, with RLPE director Duncan Johnson joining the board as a non-executive director. Mr Johnson said: " Consumer debt in the UK has peaked over the past six months and financial services institutions are increasingly outsourcing their debt to manage the recovery process more efficiently. "Equidebt has an excellent track record, good infrastructure and strong financial management to take advantage of this growth market as the financial sector continues to outsource its portfolios of consumer debt. The management team has built strong relationships with its clients and has adopted a professional and ethical debt collection strategy." I can’t read anymore, I just can't, I’ve got tears in my eyes ‘ethical debt collection strategy’ christ that’s funny if you want to read more check out the birmingham post. ‘ethical debt collection strategy’ oh god that’s priceless must remember that one. moneycheatingexpert 8-)
  13. Somebody ask for a solicitor? Anyway, a judicial doesn't need one just an internet connection, you can most def. DIY if you want and a lot cheaper, than the hourly rate route. However, this is only a great option if its simple seperation and unprotracted. I honestly do not believe this will be the case here. moneycheatingexpert:cool:
  14. you've got a result and you don't even realise it, it's my lunch break and that panini's calling will respond in 1 hour if nobody else has. moneycheatingexpert 8-)
  15. With a good bottle of champagne paid for by the DCA. You really have to pull yourself together and stop behaving like a victim there really is nothing to worry about, the only victim here is the poor old boys and girls at Robbie’s. Follow the advice given, write the letters and ignore the calls, they will get bored and move onto someone else without the knowledge to fight back, be especially smart and you get them to take a £1 a month, until your situation changes.
