  1. and if the house is up for sale at £140000 and we get a 90 percent mortgage therefore the deposit on £140000 is £14000 do we just apply for a mortgage of £126000???? sorry for so many questions just am totally puzzled!!
  2. should also put is it net or gross income as my partners actual yearly take home is approx £32000, so do i use net or gross to calculate how much we could borrow? its all so confusing!
  3. hi everyone, will try and put this as simply as possible!! we are currently in housing association house but may have the opportunity to buy my mother in laws house at a very good price etc, my partner and my joint annual income is approx £40,000, and the house will be roughly £140,000. my partner banks with barclays and we could borrow up to £172,000 on a 90 percent mortgage, but, the issue is we have someone willing to lend us £20000 as a deposit but they would ideally want it paid back in a lump sum rather than paying them back weekly etc, so my question is, if we got a mortgage for £160,000 paying £20,000 deposit off is it possible to recoup that deposit to pay back the loaner (who is a friend) we are both in our early thirties and have excellent credit history etc. but are totally clueless as to how it works!! also as the majority of the total household income is my partners and a small portion is mine, i have just put it in the calculator as one total income etc.. does that make a difference? i literally earn about £1000 a month. any help would be great, we are going into barclays on friday to discuss it all, but just wondered if there was anyone on here who could give me the heads up
  4. hi i have a vanquis card and have done for a about a year or so now, only use it for emergencies etc.. well i only ever usually read how much i need to pay and pay it online but noticed on my last statement i am being charged £20.22 a month for something like "replayment option plan/repayment protection plan" so, i rang them up and they told me its so that if i get made redundant etc i can put the account on hold for a certain amount of time, but that amount of money a month seems like a hell of a lot for something i dont need as i dont work now (my other half does but ive not long had a baby!) can i cancel it and if so how etc, i currently owe approx 500 pounds which i aim to be paid off over three months then i am cutting the card up as the charges are extortionate! many thanks zoe
  5. right i bought it on the 21st august (remembered i posted it on my facebook as it was the first blue pushchair i have ever bought ! very sad i know!) so do you think i should ring and ask to speak to the manager?
  6. hi everyone, i purchased a mamas and papas pipi buggy from argos approx three months ago (cant remember exact date but this buggy is exclusive to argos and came out when there last catalogue came out) i think i paid cash but will check my bank statments and i did keep the reciept but cant find it anywhere, anyway, the pushchair is knackered, it seems like the frame has bent and wont close properly and makes a horrific crunching noise when you try to close it and the back rest sometimes sticks and you have to yank it down, its never been anywhere to get squished or anything and i take could care of my buggies as i am a bit of a pushchair addict!! my son is only six months old and has used it probably 10 times max as i also have a maxi cosi car seat and quinny frame i use when out in the car. am very disappointed as this is the first mamas and papas pushchair i have bought (have three kids!) and i want my money back not an exchange as am going back to maclaren as never had any probs with them! any one know where i stand? i would right it off but the pushchair was seventy quid! any help would be greatly appreciated will try and go through my bank statements but am pretty sure i bought our dvd player at the same time so the amount wont match just the pushchair so will that matter? many thanks zo (must have paid cash as no reference on bank statements and have hunted high and low for reciept and cant find it!)
  7. well i have never had one also not only are they droppin my hours the hours i am now expected to do are different to what i was originally doing.
  8. i work in a pre school with my sister (big mistake i now realize) and have been there since january, it was agreed i would do 16 hours although i have no contract, they are now telling me as they have taken one of the committee members family members on that i am only required to do 8 hours , which i cant as i lose all my tax credit entitlement. i know there are under lying issues but my point is can they do this to me?
  9. i dont want her new address i want to know if it is possible to trace her original landline numbers phone records so that if i take her to court she has to provide this evidence and also for myself as we have changed our number to stop her ringing plus as a platinum member you should read my post i dont once ask about gaining her new address sorry to be blunt but i have had a **** day and my daughter is in hospital tomorrow dont worry i will search else where thanks anyway
  10. hi to cut a long story short i have had to accept a caution for harrasment today , my estranged mother has been ringing me over the last year upto 20 times a day (i ignored most as when i did answer she was drunk and vile) well i cracked in february and left her four voicemails basically saying how much i hated her and i hoped the alcohol killed her and did she not wonder why both her kids hate her etc.. (she was and always will be a violent drunk i took an overdose at 14 because of it and the police where never any help everytime she hit me) i was also on a documentary in december as i had an emotional breakdown after my second child was born and didnt bond with her and it was all down to my relationshp with my mom (had a year of pyschotherapy!) the police told me that as she no longer lives at the address where the landline was she used to ring me on and that she has changed her mobile number there is no point me going to court as they cant trace her records???? i dont understand why not she was registered at the address and paid bt for the telephone. i feel so upset its untrue. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. hi to cut a long story short i have been working along side trading standards as i bought a wedding dress from a shop over email , picked it up and it was not the size stated, she offered a refund but i asked if she could alter it as it was in the sale and i cant afford a new one she said yes then i realized the shop is an hour away and it was a false economy (although we had talked about a day and time for me to visit) really travelling back and forth for fittings so emailed an politiely asked if poss to have original refund and she said no. so i replied ok but i would like to check with trading standards that i am not entitled to one first. she emailed back saying free alteration and that was it etc but this still meant the travelling , i was polite throughout our emails although she did get funny with me at times, trading standards informed as i agreed alteration no case for refund. fair enough. so i emailed lady and said look can we compromise sorry to bombard you with mail and to mess you about shall i come over and we can talk, she mailed back no sold shop am in ghana??? trading standards have said i have a case if she will not do alteration (have emailed asking her about this but had no reply), but shop is still trading as a limited company just with a slightly changed name. right rant over i need to know do i chase shop or her and what is the time restriction for a small claim as i cant find any info on line xx thanks x
  12. she did offer to alter it but as the shop was an hour away it wasnt worth it money wise to travel and pay out for petrol eacfh time i have been completely honest in my initial post that is exactly how it is i promise i have re read each email about three times etc i will wait and see if i get a reply from her i guess.
  13. i have lost the money full stop unless i can get it altered cheaply (highly unlikely bridal alterations are mega expensive) or sell it on as like i said this was the dress i wanted! will let you know if she replies to my email, i just sent sorry to bombard you with emails but we are both in a really awkward situation i understand your situation but i hope you understand mine your initial offer was a refund so i cant understand why now you dont want to, if that really is the case then i cant really do anything about it as a credit note is useless to me as this was my dream dress and i cant afford it new as you know, i will have to try and sell it on maybe. thanks for the offer anyway i appreciate it zoe
  14. a exchange or credit note is no good as the dress brand new is a thousand pounds and i cant afford that! i am sure she was upset about possibly loosing a sale but at the end of the day she sold me a 14 saying it was a 12!! i cant afford to pay more for my dress and this is the one i have always wanted i have waited a year to buy it in the sale as this was the only way i could have it sorry if you think i am being melodramatic but i cant help it !!
