  1. your solution is interesting, but what do i do when i have already repaid the amount borrowed, plus £250 interest, and they still want my car, or £1400 off me?
  2. hi sweep1, dont mean to be rude, but did you do geography? newcastle is an english city, it is IN england and therefore subject to english law. however, thank you for taking the time to reply. i have spoken to the dvla, the car is registered to me and i am getting a new log book from them. as for the rest, i am consulting with legal advisors and there are many things that can be done, depending on the type of agreement i signed and how much i have paid back updates as and when.
  3. hi all, having read ALL the posts on lbl, i wonder if anyone can clear this up for me, as i find the info very confusing. i had a loan through them in august last year, for £800, i kept up the payments as i didnt see anything going wrong, but it did, and earlier this year fell behind, i tried to make arrangements with them but they werent interested. i had a letter from them saying that the agreement was to be terminated and that i could apply to the court for 'more time' before the car was taken. i was given no info about a court, a date or anything else. i now have a notice of termination from them. i have since moved, and i keep the car hidden as i cant do without it or i lose my job. i contacted them, they put me onto the bailiffs. the last i heard i owed them £750, after already paying back £1000, the bailiff said that they need £1400 cos of there costs, or i lose the car. i told him i didnt have it and he said tough. i have read the posts on these people, and the questions i need answering are, CAN they take my car without a court order? if not, what can i do to stop them if they turn up? Is the agreement unenforceable? if so, why? Do they own my car or not? or the log book? i signed up at home, as far as i know i havent had a default notice, i dont recall signing a bill of sale. i dont know what to do now. can anyone shed some light on this please? i need to tax the car next month, can i get a new log book?
