  1. Had a look on Companies house where they are showing as dormant. Being the sad man that I am, I downloaded their balance sheet which shows NET ASSETS of £100 as of 31 DECEMBER 2006
  2. Also I have just found the Courtlink corporate website, It makes interesting reading "Where all reasonable credit control action has been used against a debtor and the account still remains unpaid then it is time to adopt a different strategy bringing the real threat of legal action to bare. Through years of experience in handling stubborn debtors we have developed a Legal Demand letter system that has real impact and produces very rapid results, bringing about a swift resolution without having to embark on the legal process. Our highly affective 'Letter Before Action' service has risen in popularity since the introduction of the 'Woolf Reforms' which now places greater responsibility on plaintiffs to achieve resolutions with their debtors before taking legal action. The service forms an ideal compliment to our other services and offers the final pre-legal solution. Cases that do progress as far as legal action can be handled under our Legal Membership Insurance which is available under an annual contract. The scheme provides you with access to our UK Network of specialist litigation solicitors with reduced fees for County Court / Small Claims Court actions. With these reduced litigation costs, the decision to press ahead for Court Action is taken on more secure economic grounds. Carrying out a pre-legal check on your debtor's financial health and ability to pay and by progressing cases via the Fast Track system ensures the fastest possible chance of settlement. REMEMBER - 'IT DOESN'T TAKE A HAMMER TO CRACK A NUT BUT IT CERTAINLY HELPS'" That last line is a cracker!!!
  3. Just had another look at the letter. There is no correspondence address, just a premium rate 0870 number. Surely this is bang out of order.
  4. I guess that I will have to use Special delivery, Its a bit irritating knowing that all the other CCA's i have sent have been received tho! Everything about Mint is Rubbish !
  5. Anybody had any problems with Mint signing for recorded delivery? I have sent my CCA request twice to their Southend on Sea address, both by recorded delivery but neither of them are showing as signed for on the royal mail website. Just wandered if this has happened to anybody else?
  6. So as long as they don't produce the Credit Agreement I shall just keep ignoring them. But what if they produce it 2 or 3 months down the line? the account will have lots of arrears.
  7. Its now 16 working days since they received the CCA request, they are calling me 5 - 6 times a day, 7 days a week. I never answer but they are filling my voicemail which is driving me mad. Will the telephone harrasment letter work in this case?
  8. Had a letter today from Courtlink uk ltd chasing me for a £60 debt. The thing that has made me very angry is it came in an envelope with large red letters over it "URGENT" , "Private and confidential" and a huge window through which could be seen the words - "outstanding" , "litigation". Surely there is some law against this? Does anybody have a template letter for me to use to warn them?
  9. I have an old account which I do not use anymore with our friends the co-op bank. the account was overdrawn by £700 which is entirely made up of charges. I sent them the usual letter asking them to refund these charges but received a bogoff letter telling me that they are awaiting the results of the high court case. Now they are calling me almost every day, they are rude and even though I tell them that I am unemployed they say I should pay from my benefits and if I do not they will continue to add charges. The balance is now over £850 overdrawn (What the hell, weve got a sucker here lets add another £150) What should my next move be? I thought that since they told me that they were waiting the results of the high court case they could not more charges.
  10. I have received a response to my letter [see above] apologizing and that they aim to respond in 14 days!! by which time they will be in default. Me thinks they don't have the credit agreement
  11. loubyb, Do not let these vultures get you down. They are the lowest of the low! Remember you are not a criminal! I would also echo what others have posted on here. DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM ON THE PHONE! Good luck you are among friends here.
  12. In 2005 I opened a store card with Clydesdale (credit limit £600) At some point this changed to a fixed sum agreement when I purchased more goods (much higher balance) with a different account number. And the store card is showing as settled on my credit file. I sent a CCA request to clydesdale quoting the new account number and they have responded with the original agreement for the store card. Even the account number on their cover letter does not match the one on the agreement. Whats my next move? Do I write back saying thank you but this is not the correct agreement. Any help would be appreciated.
  13. pt2537 So do I ignore the claim on their letter stating that they received the request 8 days after postage? Shirei12, No they did not send back my original letter and I am not sure whether they have banked the cheque yet (Wifes cheque)
  14. Just another quick question. On the part that says - "My request for a true copy of my credit agreement under section 78 was made on xx/xx/2007" Do I put the date that I originally sent the letter or the date they claim to have recieved it? Royal mail website is showing as letter undelivered, however they have obviously delivered it hence the reply from barclaycard!
  15. This should be fun. I reckon that this could be a delaying tactic and therefore I am fairly optimistic.
  16. HFC are an absolute joke, I have several recorded telephone calls with them. One of me doing my best Jeremy Paxman impressions, repeatedly asking why they are calling me when I have requested that they do not. Another of one of their agents confirming that they do not do security checks when they call customers (apparently when a customer confirms their name this is adequate security!!!)
  17. I have proof of delivery for 2 letters requesting a statement. I have been passed on to "Salisbury Litigation Management" which is the same address as Tenon and I have received several letters ranging from bankruptcy threats to CCJ,s and home visits. Should I just keep ignoring them? after all I have proof of a ligitimate request for a statement.
  18. Hi Mike, Thanks for that. it looks like Barclaycard will be receiving the letter from both of us. Good luck
  19. Hi mazel, I think I will try that one with HFC who constantly ignore my requests to put all correspondence in writing.
  20. I sent a CCA request last week to Barclaycard and on reading posts on here I didnt sign the letter. This morning I have received a letter from Barclaycard - "In order for us to disclose information and to continue processing your request we will require the card holders signed authorisation. As soon as we receive this information your request will be given our immediate attention" What do I do next?
  21. Thanks for the useful advice I will answer the next call and leave them on hold.
  22. yes PriorityOne I CCA'd them all last week "recorded delivery" however I keep checking the royal mail web site and over half of them have not even arrived yet. Quick question, Once a creditor is in receipt of a CCA request and then phone me up, what's the best way to respond? I assume its just to ignore them.
