Please help!! I was a member of Esporta gym in manchester, however i requested to be relocated via work and got my transfer with a notice period of 3wks. I informed Esporta of this and as they have a cancellation period of three months, i offered to pay them the three months membership fees upfront to cancel my contract. However they ignored this and requested confirmation that i have been transferred, so i sent them a letter containing my managers details for confirmation, however they will not accept this, they want either a utility bill or a letter from a professional confirming my transfer, which will take more then 14 days. They have now passed me over to a debt collection agency who want £265 instead of the £144 for my three months membership, within 14 days or they will start legal proceedings. I again have asked them what this is for but have had no response and am worried about further action being taken. I do not know what else to do, can anyone help me please??
