  1. We have a loan with these Welcome people (I know but needs must at the time). Normally they are very polite respectful and proffesional. Whilst on holiday last week we recieved a threatening call to say we were in arrears of £115 pounds-and that our account was to be passed to debt collectors to begin repossession procedures. As we had changed the terms and conditions of our original agrement two months ago(all signed at local office) we thought everything ok. The branch manager came on phone and said he was prepared on this occassion to put our account on hold and not pass to debt collectors until we came back from holiday and sign new agreements for reduced payments. We thought we had already signed these agreements two months ago-this ruined the rest of our holiday.We phoned a different branch to clarify what was happening and were told not to worry and to ring when we got back from holiday. We did this only to discover our original loan agreement had been changed while we were away and that the branch had put on the system that we had gone into the office to sign a new agreement-none of this true! We contacted other branch and they advised us that our local office had committed fraud and had manipulated us-so would we begin a complaint procedure. This person also told us that they would whistleblow on other office. Manger from our local office phoned and is desperate for us to go in and sign new paperwork,and has offered to take money off our loan. Head office have contacted us and are seeking advice. Any suggestions?
  2. Happy New-year !! Well SLC has not rectified matters but are ignoring my letters sent to them concerning: 1, wrongfully sending me someone else’s credit agreement 2, not answering my questions as to where mine had been delivered 3, what they were doing to rectify the situation And now to top it off have sent it back to Smith & Lawson to deal with ( I know its just the other desk in the Student Loans Company office) So in response I have sent off a complaint to ICO Information Commissioners Office with all documents referring to the case and see what they are upto. Questions start now..... a, What do I have to do to take Student Loans Company to court over Data Protection Act 1998? b, How do I get Smith & Lawson off my case now? c, How can I make this a happy new-year again?
  3. I couldnt find it on the page i think SLC have edited but did find this link on the page - check out the responce from student loans. Better Regulation Executive (BRE): Let us have your ideas: "If you do complain but remain dissatisfied, you are at liberty to ask SLC to refer your case to the Independent Assessor for review." Ive never been refered by one of its advisers to an Independant Assesor has anyone else? (and yes the rest is laughable)
  4. Also just had a phone call from the third party whos info I was sent by SLC thanking me for letting them know and they will be sending a letter to SLC asking why? SLC mopping brown stuff from the walls at the moment.
  5. RESULT Marsky 1 SLC 0. Well ive just recieved a letter from CapQuest! "We are writing to advise that Capquest Debt Recovery Limited are no longer dealing with your account and we have returned all information to our client, The Student Loan Company Limited. This and all future communication should be made to them quoting ref **********." Thanks Noomill060 for advice on that one!
  6. Yes Ive read! that sounds promicing, and a bit of a weight off. The charges are escalating and ive no idea how they can justify them. I ve also been asked to send a letter asking where my papers are in respect of "Data Protection Act" and going to let the other person know i have their document with bank details etc, they have a right to know.

  8. Im having same problems so will be watching and waiting I need to know what to do to stop this. And maybe its not a bad idea if we all gang up on SLC (thats normally what happens to bullies). Good Luck

  10. This will go up by £65 every month from now on. Letter from Cap quest threatening solicitors if £717.13 is not payed by yesterday (05 nov 07)
  11. they want £747.13 charges are supposed to be £210 by thier records!
  12. They lost the deferment for year 2000 and the rest of the time i have defered sucessfully.
  13. arrears of ??? they change all the time and if not payment in full before futher action

Quote : My first Charges start in the Oct 2000 so they must have lost notes around that time, ( is was Seven years ago) And it goes back that far it started with £12 penalties in Oct 2000 (x10) then £15 (x 3 )in jan 03 then £20 june 05 (x 2 ) And i Know i ve recieved charges from thier sister companies
  15. Yes Quote : Well years ago SLC did not receive my deferment documents, (even though they were sent off at the same time as my wife’s deferment documents and they received those).

Im trying to: Stop the harrassment from SLC Ltd Not pay them anymore money ( unless im over the theshold and lawfully need to start to pay back loan) Claim back charges and monies already paid to them ( as these were taken against the aggreement) Defer loan as i dont and never have earned enough to start paying (remember they lost the original deferment) Maybe Im mad
