  2. I meant to add... I am scared that registering on the voters roll will be what gives me a deluge of debt letters.
  3. Hi All, This might seem a generic question so please move it if its in the wrong place.. I have not been listed on the voters roll for a number of years, if I am on it then it will be at an address I lived at around 9 years ago. I think I have only got one debt from that address way back then which I have never paid back, it's never caught up with me and I am hoping it is now statue barred or something like that (this was when I was a silly student and non-financial aware) Anyway, I want to take out a new credit card or a loan but think that by not having registered on voters roll for my current adddress this might make it impossible. Too scared to apply for my credit report in case there is suddenly a deluge of forgotten debts (there may be none, there may be some - such a long time ago). Would having the voters roll registration make me a more viable applicant? I earn over £35k a year just now. I have used stupid payday loans and think iwould prefer a conventional loan/credit card instead so thats why i am investigation the electoral roll here. what an essay... sorry
  4. Hi everyone, Just like many other people on here, I have been silly enough to get into the payday loan trap! Until I can get interest frozen, I am literally trapped in a never ending loop. I have recently got a break from quick quid who are allowing me to pay over 4 months, which is a lot but I guess its manageable. Txtloan also were very helpful and have a good repayment plan that i am happy with. Does ANYONE have any success with lending stream, I have not yet told them I am going to have financial difficulty. I can pay my due money this month, but next month is not looking good. I would rather tell them in advance rather than default and face all the nasty calls etc. So hopefully someone will have some success or tips for lending stream please?? Thanks
  5. Thanks guys! This forum is very informative! Will make a start on all of that next week.
  6. I was a student and went over my overdraft limit and was charged about £30 every month on quite a few occasions. If I switched anything, say a sandwich for £2.50, I got a £30 charge added to that as well (I know its no excuse to say i was a student - but i was really naive about finances) Anyway... The debt was transferred to a debt collector and I am currently paying this whole thing off... Am I also entitled to have the charges removed? How will this be communicated to the debt agency? I have read the FAQ's and never found this answer, so I apologise if this question is anywhere else on the forum. Thanks in advance.
