Hello, I have been to scared to get my credit reports from the various agencies. 4 years ago I defaulted on 3 credit cards and a bank account. I basically hit the bottle and went on a 4 year bender. I am now through that phase and want to sort out my affairs. I have just been so worried about looking at my credit report. After reading some of the threads it has given me hope that these things can be sorted out. Which agencies do I need to contact? Many thanks. Once I have got the results I will let you know what it says, to ask advice on what to do next. Baxter

Hi Tas, Phone council tax payments at Finella House. Just persist till you speak with someone who talks sense. They will be OK . I had to hang up a few times as the person on the other end couldnt speak English. Failing that go in, in person Finella House , Babbington Road Hendon. They will be OK. Be calm, humble and try and appear to be helpful. Regards, Baxter

No I sold the car as I didnt need it, so they cant clamp a vehicle. The form they have used appears to say Magistrates Liability order for unpaid non domestic rates and coundil tax. He has scribbled out the domestic rates and council tax bit and put road traffic offences... He says he will be back in 2 days. I think he is just trying to bluff me. I live on the 7th floor and have no car to clamp lol Baxter

I have been away on holiday and came home to a letter hand posted by Newlyn . It says removal of goods notice. Magistrates Liability Order for unpaid Road traffic offences... I have not committed any road traffic offences, 3 parking tickets, and a bus lane. What does he mean by Magistrates Liability Order. If I just refuse to answer the door am I OK. I have not spokent to anybody in person or seen anybody. The vehicle concerned has been sold. Many Thanks Colin

Christ, and I thought I would be safe on a supermarket car park!!!! In some respects this will make them more lazy in that they will be less likely to use their brain to find an elusive car. Thinking about it I think I have seen these guys in action, they were in a white mercedes van. I saw them suddenly stop by a car and on my way back on the same route ten minutes later a l re BMW was clamped. This was a plain white van, the DVLA vans I have seen have had DVLA on the side so it could well have been Bailiffs. Do Bailiffs work on a Sunday? Baxter

Hi there each ticket is 105 pounds I think and their charges are the remainder.. I have not asked for a breakdown, I will though. I have even thought about changing my number plate, for 200 pounds all in you can buy a cheap northern Ireland " cherished" plate to out fox the bailiffs.. Newlyn are the second round of Bailiffs so to speak. The first set sent the fines back to the council. My hiding place is quite good and I would have to be unlucky for it to be found. As I said I have a buyer for the car lined up for the end of August so hopefully I will be able to survive till then. Baxter

Hello, I am sure this question has been asked before but I need quite specific answers , so here goes. I have stupidly ignored 4 parking tickets, for each parking ticket the Bailiff wants 456 pounds... The company is Newlyn. I have not met the Bailiff as I havent been in when they have called and I have no intention of letting them in if they do call. I am currently hiding my car and will be selling it at the end of August. As long as I sit tight will I be ok? Would it be worth my while writing to the council " Barnet" and offering them a settlement . I think almost 2000 pounds is ridiculous for 4 parking tickets. Regards, Baxter
