  1. Thanks for reply HB still pondering over what to do
  2. Hi I am trying to book a holiday through a holiday company based in Spain . I have spoken to the girl that runs the company a lot and she seems okay. What I am trying to find out is do i pay by bank transfer, debit card or credit card and pay the extra that the credit card forces me to pay. What protection do these options afford me e.g if they cancel on me or we cannot get their due to volcanic ash etc . Many thanks for looking
  3. update on this she has been granted exempt after we emptied the house of furniture Work is almost complete after the flood and she should be back in her home within 2 or 3 weeks ...
  4. I agree say what you like at my bro in laws funeral a few weeks ago his uncle gave the most fantastic eulogy and it must of been at least 6 pages long . it covered his early days mentioning his parents grandparents backgroud, His schooldays, Early work experiences, Later work Travel and funny stories mixed up in it all . It ended with the most beautiful valedation . It doesn't matter how long it takes everyone that is listening is there because the loved your Dad and support your family. People that were at our funeral are still talking about the eulogy and especially enjoyed it because they learnt things about him that they were unaware of before . I hope all goes well for you
  5. Am so very sorry to hear this pompey am sure you dad was very proud of you and so will your Mum when she hears you read the Eulogy . I hope you all manage to find the strength now to deal with things knowing that your Dad is now at peace . You are a special person to share your feelings so openly x
  6. Dear Pompey my heart goes out to you i lost my brother in law a couple of weeks back after a reoccurence following a 12 month battle with tongue cancer. He passed 2 weeks to the day it was confirmed by his surgeon that it had returned. It helped us all so much that we kept him at home with us as we had some really special moments and we were all able to support each other as well. We could not have done this if we hadn't had the support of the beautiful Marie cure and Macmillan nurses who came and sat with us to not only care for him but to give us the stregnth to deal with this too. I wish you and your family all my best . Time and happy memories will help you through this . look after yourself and you mother xx

  9. my 71 year old mother in law rennovated and moved into a bungalow just over 12 months ago. on new years eve whilst on holiday due to the cold weather she had a pipe burst in the attic and the property has been flooded ceilings down etc . She is currently in accomodation as the property is uninhabitable ,in fact work hasn't even started as it is still being dried out . She was advised to contact the council tax department to see if she qualified for exemption from council tax which she did . However the report has arrived saying that because the saved furniture is piled up in the one room that has no damage she is not eligible and not only this because she has contacted them to inform them that the house is uninhabitable and she has had to move out that she now loses her 25% single persons discount !!! Does anyone have any advice that i can give her please as it seems so unfair that whilst having to go through the trauma of the flood and seeing her beautiful home ruined after only having lived their for such a short time she now has to pay extra for not being able to live there. Thank you
