hi i see you are having problems with Abbey i commenced pursuing them for £934 in February 2007. I sent of £10 and received last 6yrs statements .I received a reply dated 7th MARCH in which they offered me £285 as a gesture of goodwill ! I replied to the Abbey in mid-March rejecting there offer and now formally requested £934.15p plus 8% interest total £1008.88p. I awaited their response within 14 days for settlement of the above or I would pursue them for £1008.88p plus my legal costs. I then received two pro-forma letters from Abbey stating they were investigating my case one letter dated 22nd MARCH and one dated 18th April 2007. I telephoned Abbey complaints for an update and was told my case was stage 2 and not yet allocated. To my horror i received a reply from Abbey dated 17th May stating " i cannot agree to cancel these charges " I Abbey Complaints at Milton Keynes and was told i would be getting nothing ! " If you pursue us Legally you will probably win as the bank will not contest your case/claim ?????? What do I do now ? what is the procedure for raising a small claims action in the Sheriff Court in Scotland. ? Thank you Podman -
hi i'm near Glasgow aswell, i am currently pursuing the Abbey RE: bank charges of £934.14p they wrote to me three weeks ago offering me a goodwill gesture of £300 .I have since refused this and received a letter dated 17th May 2007 which arrived on the 30th May ie i WAS INFORMED I was now at stage 2 and the Abbey have now decided to give me nothing the chap on the phone from Abbey complaints in Milton Keynes informed me that if I took legal action against them I would probably win as they would not contest it ? So what are they playing at ? Anyone out there with a similar experience? Thank you
