  2. well we have an email for the job stating he is on day rate and is not supplying materials etc.. not sure what he said under caution.. I think it was along the lines I'm on my way home from work" I have a friend who works for met police and she told me its not valid and its what they call "spoilt" but ive never heard of that before.. my cousin in a solicitor so gonna also ask him
  3. he is a self employed roofer.. he had his ladders on the top but no materials or tools.. he was working on a day rate for another firm so was just driving to site and back again,. £300 fine and 6 points... I think its bit harsh really for a simple mistake on my part...
  4. he did, they seized the van as well.. and he did have insurance, he had social domestic and commuting, which effectively he was.. but apparently he needed commercial..
  5. Hi everyone my partner got pulled for a defective light and whilst stopped also got done for having no insurance ( he had domestic and social insurance and not commercial which apparently he needed) I have the fine to pay here but the offence code written is 608(a) and its not recognised when I try to pay the fine.. if they have written the wrong code is the ticket still valid? AnnMarie
  6. Thanks for all of your help and advice everyone, I feel much better now..
  7. What annoys me even more though is the fact I have been trying to arrange a payment plan and paying this in installments and they have ignored every letter
  8. Yes I have never been to court for this or anything else
  9. Hi There, Apologies if I have posted this is the wrong forum. I few months back I fell behind with my council tax and owed them £700. I wrote and asked them if they would add it onto this years bill and to spread the cost. They refused to do this and advised me to pay what I could and then wait to hear from them. In the meantime I contacted CCCS to sort out my finances and wrote to the council to ask if I could pay the bill in installments of £50 per fortnight. I never had a respnse back to this so I emailed them. They ignored my e-mail as well and then sent me a letter giving me 14 days to pay or risk court action. I telephoned them and left a voicemail asking for a call back. No one rang me back.. I wrote another letter asking them to please reply and help me sort it out. To date I have heard nothing and received in the post today a court summons. Since it began I have managaed to get the debt down to £400 from the original £700 and am still making the regular installements. However they have now added on £55 court fees. I don't know what to do. I have proof I have been in contact and they have ignored all my requests for help. Any Advise please. Ammers
  10. Hello Everyone, Just wondered if anyone could read through this letter I received and let me know if it is correct or not. The letter states they have enclosed the original and current terms and a copy of the original signed application form. All I received was a photocopy of CCA when I took it out and an u[dated one for today. Both have my name and address but no signature. They have also stated that Regulation 3(2)(b) provides that a copy can omit any signature box signature or date of signature... IS this correct as it doesn't sound like it. I honestly don't think they have the original CCA otherwise they would of sent it. or at least a copy of it.. any advice would be great. Thanks AnneMarie
  11. Hi, My husband parked in a pay and display which ran out at 12.15pm. He got back to the car to move it at 12.17pm and the inspector was writing the ticket already. He spoke to the inspector and told him he was moving the car now but the bloke said too late, its already written now.. The ticket states he observed the vehicle from 12.16 to 12.21, which was a lie as my husband was talking to him at 12.17pm. Can we contest this, if so how would i word the letter? and are there any laws or anything I can quote? Any help gratefully received. Thanks
