  3. Hi most garages charge a lot of money for repairs. This includes labour and parts. They will charge per hour,so if it takes ten mins to replace your brake pads, they will charge you for an hour.Parts they buy at trade and normally charge full retail which can be 50-75% profit for them.I have been in the motor trade for 20 years and it goes on all the time.My advice when buying a car is to get someone with mechanical knowledge to check it out for you or take it to a different garage and see what they say.You will be suprised they will find something different or miss something. eg For my Merc it cost £28 for brake pads and took me 20 mins to fit very easily. My local garage quoted £99 plus vat
  4. Many thanks.Survey filled,Donation made:D
  5. Just to let you all Know The Nationwide have refunded all my charges of £2736.81 minus court costs (which I will still chase them for!). We were due to go to court at the end of the month,I recieved confirmation from the court that Charles Bacon was going to defend all of my claim but they refunded all of the charges. It is becoming clear that the Nationwide staff havn't got a clue what one another is doing. Anyway I hope that my victory inspires you all to stand firm against these [edit] and gives you hope with your own claims. I will still use the forum to see how you do and the donate button will be pressed shortly! Good luck everyone and many thanks Bingodog PS I'm off to the pub to get lathered! 8. First of all I like to thank everyone for their input to this forum.I sent my prem letter 26th,it arrived 27th special delivery.I got a phone call from the arrogant scottish woman(Margret) from Flexaccount collections today offering me a reducing overdraft to stop my bank charges. She spoke to me like I was teenager who had just stolen from his mothers purse. Now,I went into the red when I was getting my business started 2 years ago, kept all my bank statements,as advised by my accountant. The Nationwide had charged me £2800+.It has taken me this long chasing my tail every month, borrowing off friends and family to keep my dream alive and thanks to everyone on this forum with the back bone to stand up to these baxxards I will prevail.I will keep you posted off the outcome.Anyway have a good "BANK" holiday, see you all in court!
