I wrote to MBNA requesting that they refund my charges, which amount to £1200. This morning I received a cheque for £604 from them but no letter, only a compliments slip. I know my mail has been all over the place due to the postal strikes. What I want to know is can I put the cheque into my account and then ask for the balance outstanding to be refunded or do I have to reject this cheque and ask for payment in full? Tracie
  3. My list of charges came through yesterday, with no requests for ID, which surprised me.
  4. At the time I sent it I didn't think I needed any ID as they have never been slow in contacting me if I was late in paying. Should have guessed that they would be like this.
  5. I sent my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) off on 14th April but have heard nothing at all back from MBNA. Which by my reckoning makes today the 40th day. Or should I have taken the 40 days from the next working day? Not sure on this one.
  6. Neither. Lloyds sneakily paid the full amount into my account yesterday without any notice. This is the second refund I have had from them in the space of a week as they refunded my PPI as well.
  7. Lloyds TSB actually rolled over very easily on this one. One letter and I received a full refund of £2018.
  8. I have filed a Summary Cause action against Lloyds TSB for approx. £1300. So far have heard nothng from them although have a few days grace as the return date is not until 25th May. The problem I was having is that I am away on holiday on the 1st of June which is the calling date. However I spoke to one of the lawyers at the Sheriff Court where I work and he has offered to appear for me in my absence. This is on the uderstanding that if I lose he won't charge me, but if I win he will claim his fees back from the bank as part of the settlement. Having a bit of a nervous panic now at the thought of involving a lawyer. :o
