  1. T beckett. I dont actually know how to direct you to the nudge letter - I found it in the HSBC forum. I suggest you try searching in that thread unless someone else on the lloyds thread knows where to find it. Some people dont think it is worth sending a nudge letter as they will have had hundreds. We sent it recorded delivery to SC&M and they must have acted quickly to get the settlement letter out?
  2. Silly me - course its that button - God knows how I would have dealt with a court if I cant even work out the donate button!! The running order for the claim: 21st Feb 07 - Request for list of charges. Only a list recieved - no statements 30 March 07 - Request for a refund of the charges - Standard reply received 17 April 2007 - Letter before Action 15th May 2007 - Claim issued at MCOL 21st June - Notice of Transfer of Proceedings recieved with standard 9 point defence 26th June - Sent a "Nudge letter" - Think this did the trick! 4th July - Recieved settlement letter offering MORE than we had asked for in the nudge letter! Hope this helps
  3. Thanks for the congrats. How do i donate when the bank has paid out? Is it just by hitting the donate button? Good luck to everyone!
  4. Cant believe how easy this was. I was a bit excited and worried about going to court and would encourage anyone persuing the big banks to go for it. What have we got to lose! When you say that we dont have to accept it what do you mean?. If we accept the confidentiality clause will they continue with the courts? Is there a template letter and are there any cases where they have not paid up? We will of course be donating to this site because, although we have not had to ask many questions on the forum, the excellent threads we have read have been invaluable.
  5. Just heard that LTSB have offered £6000 settlement but have included the confidentiality issue. My step father would like to accept this offer but we are not sure what the implications are for accepting the confidentiality. Can someone advise on this. What does it mean?
  6. Phew thanks, as i dont know how long it will take to get the statements.
  7. Not heard anything more yet but have been reviewing the threads in preparation and have just one concern that i dont know how to handle. When we asked Lloyds to send details of the penalty charges back 6 years all we got back was a list of the charges - not the statements themselves. Does this matter? Admittedly, because i used MSE (hadnt found you guys at that time) the template letter did make it clear that i did not want the statements just the list of charges. Going through the threads it appears everyone else has got bank statements and I am now worried that i cannot defend as I have no clear idea what the charges were for!! Help
  8. Thanks We will send a letter with the charges and inform them of my plans to accompany him. Waitiing for allocation so will update you on progress and may need some more help.
  9. I am doing this for my step father who is 66 and not at all legally minded. He is claiming for £5900 with the statutory 8% interest. We are waiting for the case to be allocated (AQ dispensed with) but i have two questions. 1. As we did the claim at MCOL we were not able to attach the schedule of charges. We have sent them twice to LTSB. Do we/can we send to the court to add to the POC? 2. Although stepfather will attend the court can i speak on his behalf - do we need to get authority from the court to do this?
  10. Thanks, I forgot i was not in the Lloyds forum.

Just received the Notice of Transfer of proceedings to my local court. From what Ive read I should now send a nudging letter to LTSB solicitors whihc i will do tomorrow. I did my claim on MCOL but am not sure if I should have sent the schedule of the charges to the court back then or if now it would be OK to send - to my local court. Is it too late to do this?
  12. Although this is my first post i have been reviewing the threads for some time and have noticed that a lot of members are using acronyms that i dont know and i guess others are not sure either. I get T&Cs but some of the others make trying to understand the advice difficult. I know its a bit of work for someone but i would appreciate a glossary of terms unless there already is one - if so could someone guide me to it. Thanks
