  1. thats kind of you. Many thanks! Again well done!
  2. I couldnt have gone dowwn the court route either really. You're right relief is the emotion. My partner is undertaking the court action himself and it really is beginning to take its toll on him. Anyway, I am pleased it over as I am sure you are.
  3. hi sorry i thought you did a new one. Silly girl! I will keep track - thanks for your advice on that. I thought I would be more excited. I just feel exhausted. Maybe that will pass!
  4. i have just read on another thread that if you call their solicitors wraggs up they will settle with you. they start of offering a paltry aount it would seem but if you hang in there it would appear that they will cough up. my partner is going to call they tomorrow. will let you know how it goes.....
  5. that is fabulous! Well done !!!!My partner went to court on tues for a prelimiary hearing and wraggs didnt even show up. Did you call their head office? I will get him to call tomorrow. Honestly again well done! (i got my offer today from RBS- its a great feeling!_
  6. I got my offer letter today. Full settement (but no interest). £7,700. Sandy watt at RBS was an enormous help in pushing things on. Keep going everyone!
  7. hi I got my offer today from RBS. Sandy Watt (sandy.watt@rbs.co.uk) was a great help in pushing things on. I over £7,700 back. Its draining but keep going!
  8. Its a hearing.... do you think they will wait until the court date proper to settle?
  9. hi I am due in court next week and and getting increasingly anxious. Has anyone had experience of A&L settling beforehand, in full? Cheers!
  10. i believe that charges incurred can be added to the amount- aparently you score the amount offered out and enclose you additional calculation. according to the telephone helpline. They will settle the o/draft I think. I havent got any offer yet (day 40 on thurs!) but I have been told that they will try to direct the 7K into my o/draft and a loan that I have with them. The FOS will fight the loan on my behalf but cant on the o/d. I hope this helps
  11. I agree this forum and MSE have been invaluable. These guys deserve knighthoods!
  12. how long did it take between the offer letter and the funds being paid? Was it straight into yoru account? Ta and well done you!
  13. Update! I am going down the FOS route and they wil fight for a cheque or the return of funds to my current account only on my behalf. It makes me mad that RBS can choose what happens to my money that they unlawfully stole. Its about time someone made a successsful cliam for damages as this process is enough to knock years off your life. Will keep you posted!
  14. Yes I am trying to clear the debts but I have others I would like to settle first. I dont see why RBS should make that decision for me.
  15. no but its the principle. Are you within you rights to ask for a cheque?
  16. I have just been informed that my reclaimed charges (over 7K) will put paid directly into my loan and that I will not get the cash into my current a/c. Have anyone had experience of this. I am of a mind to fight this.
  17. Hi I have been told I will get all of my cliam refunded (over 7K) but it is going straight into my loan that I hav with RBS. Can they do this? Can I object? Any thoughts?
  18. hi can you give me the email address? Many thanks! This is a full time job!
  19. hi how did you get on? I am just about to start on Virgin. This is like a full time job! regards!
  20. Can I suggest Citibank Access account too. Debit card and chequebook and seems friendly to bad credit people like me!
  21. I agree. Daylight robbery and it would not be tolerated in any other industry (could you imagine if your plumber could just help himself to what he fancied as his fee?!!) It is so wrong and illogical! I will not lie down and roll over and indeed I think they should repay on a blanket basis not just to those that have the inclination to write and pursue it. I think I will write to my MP!
  22. Is moneyclaim soley for those based in England? It sounds like I am being naive waiting for the full offer (8K plus interest)!
  23. Someone on this site advised me to go down the FOS route, not least because the Ordinary cuase route is complicated and expensive if you loose. I decided to do this, and got the standard seven week wait letter from RBS. I called them to say that this wasnt good enough and they said they would make an offer by the 12 July (which was the eight week mark). I havent had anything yet but was assured that they would make a payment however not including interest. I can dig the telephone number out when I get home from work if you require it. As you say reclaim what is rightfully yours!
  24. has anyone actually raised an ordinary cause action themselves and won? I am determined to represent myself
  25. very well done- this makes me more determined to continue! for that hight amount of cliam would you have considered representing yourself? I am a bit anxious about doing myself- my claim is £8000
