  1. I know I am still having nightmares about it, you are promised money within 12 weeks, they make it sound so easy. Get told that they have designated people who deal with all of the banks so it will all be fast tracked. All I can say to others is that it is all a bunch of lies, you are left in the dark as you have no direct communication with Nationwide as you sign over your account to them. And at the end it cost you nearly £400 . I am ringing them back up this afternoon to ask for an update + why they have informed me by letter that the bank have 21 days , when all other people on forum have 28 days using MCOL
  2. yes. penalty charges £1719.50 interest £509.12 they get back 17% of this for their professional service !!!!
  3. this is a copy o letter sent. We write following our recent conversations to confirm that we have sent instruction to our solicitors today to issue legal proceedings due to an inadequate response from your debtor. The claim balance above has increased due to cost paid by FRL for court fees and solicitor fees , these amounts are recoverable from your debtor therefore it is essential that should your bank attempt to make a settlement of this legal claim during the next 21 days that this passed to FRL to ensure that all monies due are recovered . Solicitor Fees £80 Court Fees £120 Our previous experience shows that our next written communication should include settlement of your claim , the return of your statements.
  4. They are using their own solicitors , so taking the court action route , what I cant understand is that they have put 21 days , when everybody else on this forum have 28 days for nationwide to file a defence.
  5. Hi. I have also used the services of a so called proffesional company who promised me that the whole process from them getting the statements to payout would be 12 weeks. It all started well , I got an email from them within 3weeks telling me that the statements had been received and that the total ammount due was £2108. So I had all this info from February 15th. they then sent out the normal stuff leading up to after 14 days they would proceed with legal action. By the time it got to mid march , I still hadnt heard anything , so rang company up and they said that they are waiting for 8 weeks as they may use the financial ombudsman as this maybe a quicker way to get back the money. End of April still no news. So I sent an email explaining that from reading post on forums , Nationwide dont pay up unless the legal route is taken . was informed that my case was ready to be sent to their solicitors but they were still deliberating as to which was the best course of action , either ombudsman or courts. Finally received a letter on May 11th informing that they have passed it onto the their own solicitors and if i had any offers from nationwide in the next 21 days then to contact them immediately. also amendment to ammount of money on claim as solicitor cost added. I rang the company on monday 4th June they said my case was up review today , and to ring back back on friday. I am confused also with why I am told 21 days , when all the other guys on this forum who use MCOL talk about 28 days. anyway good luck with your case and I hope you receive youre money soon.
  6. the name of the company is financialrecoveries ltd ::: Debt Collection & Debt Recovery Services by Financial Recoveries UK
  7. I made the big mistake of using a no win no fee company for my claim for £2,140 of bank charges against Nationwide. I started the process on February 11th 2007 , and received statements on March 1st. It has then taken numerous phonecalls emails to finally get them to use their solicitors to issue legal proceedings , these were finally sent on Friday 11th May, with a letter informing me to send any corespondence to Financial Recoveries during the 21 day period. From checking other threads it appears that the time should be 28 days . Could somebody please clarify this for me. **** Some advice for anybody thinking of making a claim , using so called specialist companies doesnt make the process of getting your money back any quicker , in my case it has prolonged things , and I will also end up pating £498 for the privelage *****
  8. I received this response from Nationwide it clearly states charges are related to high cost for this service . Thank you for your email regarding charges incurred on your FlexAccount. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund the charges as you've requested. I can confirm that on 05 December 2006 a cheque for £49.56 was paid in and did not clear until 12 Dcember 2006. When the Direct Debit payable to IDT Direct Toucan was presented on the 11 December 2006 you had insufficient funds in your account. I can confirm that the majority of our members will not pay any charges on their FlexAccount. However, we do apply a fee for a transaction that causes an unauthorised overdraft. As the cost of providing this service is high, by making a charge in this way members only pay for the services they use. There is a standard fee for an unauthorised overdraft because our costs are the same regardless of the amount and the number of days the account has gone overdrawn. As you'll be aware, if an item is paid, which takes you over your agreed overdraft limit, we'll issue you with a charge. This also applies if an item is returned unpaid on your account. These charges are in accordance with the terms and conditions, which you agreed to when you signed the application form to open your account. If you'd like further details of our charge tariffs a leaflet called 'FlexAccount Interest Rates and Charges' is available from our branches. We'll make sure you're notified of any pending charges on your monthly statement and we'll always make you aware of any changes to the tariff. I hope this helps to clarify our position and that you can appreciate why I am unable to refund any further charges on your account. If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to call us on 01793 576760. Yours sincerely Zowie Pile Customer Administrator Member Account Servicing
