  2. Donel, I'm not saying I'm right, but might be worth asking one of the moderators in the Scottish section if the 5 year thing is true - they seem to be very well schooled on all of this.
  3. Your case is a bit strange since the airline say the flight was at the time it was always planned but the ticket issuer messed up and had you at the airport hours in advance. Go to Martin Lewis's site http://www.moneysavingexpert.com and search for "delayed flight". Or this link should take you right there I think. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1114183370,15836, However, as I say your case is a bit different so maybe this won't apply....hope this helps
  4. Donel, I believe in Scotland the limitations is 5 years (6 England). Doesn't mean you can go for charges beyond that, from what I've been readinmg on this site, some folk are going way back, however you may want to verify this for yourself....
  5. Thanks Vampiress ! I actually looking forward to all of this.... This site is great - I'm more than willing to donate to help - my salary goes in the bank at start of the month so I'll donate then. After all, I wouldn't want to go overdrawn and upset the bank now would I ......
  6. Hi, Last week (19th May) I sent the bank (BOS) my first letter requesting the list of charges they've levied against me over the past 5 years. I know that Scottish Law means that small claims must be for max £750, so if my charges total more than £750, as I think they will, then I would need to make multiple claims. So, I'm thinking of rolling up all the charges together, telling the bank (by letter of course) that they owe me £XXX and if they settle in full now rather than go to court they will save themselves the 8% APR I can make them pay when they lose in court. Obviously I'll try to word it a bit more eloquently than that, but does anyone see and reasons against doing what I'm proposing ? Or would I give them the impression I'm afraid to go to court ? (I'm not)....:-?:-?:-?
  7. BertRaccoon, Re the values the offered 1st time (£165) and second offer (£490), the difference (325) is exactly 25% of what you claimed they owed you. How they came up with the first offer of 12.7% is anybody's guess. Tomorrow (17th May) I'm posting my first letter to Bank Of Scotland, requesting for the breakdown of charges I've been hit with in the last 5 years. I'll post updates as I go along. I must say, very encouraging to hear you say you're prepared to go further with this - please keep posting...thanks
