Well, got home from work yesterday, only to find a letter from First Direct offering me £880 of the £1030 i claimed for... ... after some thought i accepted - its only £150 light of what i wanted, and saves me the hassle of more letters, court, court fees, forms, so i'm one happy man! thats 2/3 claims now.. just waiting on another £998 from the halifax good luck with everyone elses claims!! APC

thanks happynerd.... ... just been looking at some of the cases posted on here.. it seems that some of them have been settled very quickly - i.e on the first prelim letter.. some have had offers in this stage too.. and some seem to be going on forever.. .. quick question, as my accounts closed - would this effect the speed or anything else about the case? Hi there, I have just submitted 1st letter to FD today, claiming back £1030 in charges... i have already claimed over £1500 with the Halifax via MCOL and have another claim going through with them for another account.. just wanted to say hi and find out what FD are like at paying up? I am assuming they will drag it on for as long as possible, but will i have to end up filing another court claim to get my money? thanks in advance, APC

Hi All, Just about to send my LBA for my second halifax account today.. i already successfully claimed over £1500 via MCOL for another current account i hold and i was wondering if i should make reference to the fact that i have already filed in court before and won't hesitate to do it a second time.. perhaps pointing out that they can save themselves interest + court fee should they settle in full beforehand.. .... any thoughts? or should i just send the standard letter? thanks again APC

YES!! checked my account this morning and full amount has been refunded!! £1800 thanks to everyone on this site for your help.. i will be making a contribution shortly and will complete the survey... .. time for the second halifax account now!!

Hi all, I'm currently in the process of a MCOL claim against the halifax. I have today checked the status online and it now says "Acknowledged" and i have received a letter form the court with halifax legal details etc... should i be sending schedule to them? also, is anyone else in a similar stage as am worried i'll have to go to court! thanks in advance...
