The cases described seem to be about bank charges .My issue is with a mortgage lender who charged 6% of the outstanding balance(nearly £10,000)when I was forced by them to sell and redeem a mortgage early or face repossession. This penalty applied during the first three years of the loan and there after became nil.True the penalty was included in the mortgage docment but then in the bank charge cases the charges are always in the documents.The issue with the banks is about whether the charges made are in excess of the costs they incurr.Surely the same principal must apply to mortgage redemption,
