  1. Well, I read what everyone said and just left in my account, they have'nt come back to me yet, so not sure what to do next, think I will just leave it there gaining me interest.
  2. Not spent the money and don't think I will for a long time, left it just sitting in account, thanks for all your comments, think I will just leave it and hope they don't realise it.
  3. Hello! I need some help, not sure what to do, I was chasing my bank through the letters on here and then as they started to threaten me with closing my bank I went to the FOS (financial ombudsman) the bank first replied to me after receing a letter from the FOS and paid me back almost striaght away. that was a month ago, so when I looked at my balance last week I was a little shocked to see that they have paid me again. I have received a letter from them saying they are paying me back after receiving a court claim (which I cancelled). I know what I want to do, with the money but what should really do, by law? Thanks Cuddles
  4. Hi M.J I just find it on google, have'nt got the details to hand, the Financial Obudsmans Service also have a website as well, giving you all details. Hope this helps Cuddles
  5. sounds like to FO is the way to go then now. After I received a letter from FO saying that had written on my behalf, nationwide sent me a letter a couple of days later stating they had to deal with my complaint within the number of days as this is what the FO had given them. The thing that did surprise me is they actually went back further than I orginally done in my letters direct to them and also I had a unpaid direct debit to be taken this month as well they also stated that this would also be reversed, which I never asked for. The only thing that nationwide did say when they wrote once I had signed the agreement to the figure of refund they did put that if I ever go over my over draft again or have anything unpaid then my account may be closed then. but hopefully as I now have over 2 grand in my account that won't happen! good luck to all of you how are still trying, I thought that I would never get my money back and now I have!!!!!! still can't believe it
  6. I received a letter from Nationwide stating the Ombudsman had given them til 16th June to reply but they sent me a letter last week.
  7. Just to let you all know, I have just received a letter from Nationwide asking me to sign the enclosed form saying to agree a full refund of my bank charges YIPPEEE!!!!!!! Just thought I would let you all know that the way I did it was a bit different to the templates. When I sent my first letter and received there general letter back saying no it also stated that they would consider closing my account if I continued the claim, at this point I sent a letter to the financial O/Service they paid me back because of the letter they sent to them. But anyway thanks to consumer action group as I would'nt of even tried getting them back if it was'nt to this site, thank you Cuddles
  8. thanks, will do cuddles
  9. Hi All, Just wondered if anyone can help, just about to file my claim to court and realsied I need to do the spreadsheet with 8% interest, filled it all in last night the penalties column has worked fine but the interest side row Q has nothing in it although there is a formula in there. Thanks
  10. Hi all, I need some help filling in the 8% interest spreadsheet. I have filled in the penalties part and all seems fine but the interest side I have filled in the date, amount, statement date and overdraft interest free but column Q is empty it has got a formula in it but can't understand it. Thanks Cuddles
  11. Hi All, Hoping that someone can help me, just writing out my court claim and found out I need the spreadsheet that works out the 8% (shreadsheet - Advance Excel) well filled it all in and second lot of columns for the interest don't seem to be working is it me, can someone else try filling it in. Thanks Cuddles
  12. Hi everyone, need some advise again! my LBA letter date is up tomorrow so just finished filling in my court notice ready to send off, using the online version. was quite easy to do. anyway I have just re-read my first letter from nationwide and wanted to show you guys it, don't want to do all this and I have no chance of getting back my money. so here goes here my letter from them: will cut it short though Thanks for your letter of bla bla, about charges. We appreciate the time you have taken to get in touch withn us about this issue, and are grateful for the opportunity to explain the rationale behind our charging policy. we are aware there has been a lot of speculation about fees and charges in the media and the the office of fair trading has issued a directive regarding credit cards. it goes on about why they charge fees. Then says Nationwide believes it is open and transparent about charges and memebers are pre-notified prior to charges being debited via their bank statements(which we are). If at any time we make changes to the tarrif, account holders are always informed. We hope that you feel that you can abide by the terms and conditions of the account but if cannnot, then regrettably it may be appropriate for you to consider alternative banking arrangements. I hope this has helped to claify our position and you will appreciate why I am unable to refund any charges on your account. Sorry this thread goes on, do you think I should go ahead with court, am I likely to get anything out of them, I don't care if I have to close my account I have already opened another one at another bank just in case. Please help me thanks Cuddles
  13. Have sent my second letter to NW and today was the deadline, tomorrow I am supposed to be filing court papers. I have'nt heard anything from NW. not sure if going to court is worth it. or should I give them a little longer to reply. Need help! thanks Cuddles
  14. Further to my first thread. I have just received a reply from nationwide, just within the 14 days. The letter was quite horrible and basically says that if I carry on with my claim then I am not abiding my terms and conditions of the account and that my bank account will be closed. After speaking to my husband for over £2000 we are willing to change banks, there loss really. just opening up new bank account first then going to write the next letter. Can anyone just confirm to me that I am doing the right thing! Also does anyone know what will happen as my account currently has a £1800 overdraft which we are up to, if I close the account then the overdraft will just be sitting there but then again they have £2000 that should be paid back to me. which would clear it off. Thanks Cuddles
