  1. Thank you Andy but it is now resolved. It was on facebook and she was a verified owner but she finally gave her money back after my daughter put the pictures of the van on facebook. She has learnt her lesson for booking through someone on facebook but it was a last minute decision to go so asked for caravans on facebook. Many thanks Alamand
  2. Hi everyone I don't think there is anything can be done aboit this situation but I thought I would ask. My daughter booked a last minute caravan break at the weekend from a private owner who rents her caravan on a caravan site. She paid £50 bond and £40 per night for four nights. The caravan was not like the photo's she advertised as the pictures must have been from a few years ago. The van was dirty, loose electric radiators propped against the wall, fridge seemed warm, flooring a trip hazard, these are just a few things as the list is endless. My daughter took photo's but they could not afford to go anywhere else as they had paid the owner, so she cleaned up a bit and they decided to stay. They went out for the day the next day and on return they found the fridge was not working and all the food and milk had gone off due to the hot weather and the van was full of ants. She rang the owner who sent her brother to the van to look at the van and even he said he wouldnt let his kids sleep in the homemade bunk beds or shower in the filthy shower but I guess that would be his word against my daughters. My daughter decided that she couldn't let the kids stay in the filthy van another night so they came home. She contacted the owner who said she would give her her bond and £80 back after she had checked the van. Today not unexpected should I say, she said my daughter left the van in a bad state by spilling bleach in the toilet and kids drawing on the table, all of which are lies but once gain its her word against my daughter. My daughter rang the site where the van is kept and they won't do anything and that they do not inspect the vans. I just wondered if there is anything that could be done and also what could be done to stop this woman getting away with renting out a dangerous van. Thans Alamand
  3. Hi Guys I emailed Matt Dixon regarding the t.v explaining I wasn't happy and I would like a new one and not a repaired one. I stated their obligations under Consumer Law and that they were the retailer and so should be dealing with the matter and not put the onus on the customer to sort it out. I received a reply with the usual apologies etc. but they did agree to a replacement t.v plus 15% off the price and a £45 good will gesture. Thank you Stu for the email address, its just a shame that Very's cust.services are so shocking. I do not think I will be ordering big electrical items from Very again, I think high st stores are more easier to deal with personally. Thank you guys for your help
  4. Thanks guys I've emailed Very a couple of times on each occasion they email back to ring customer services each time they say they cannot do anything until LG send them an invoice with the cost of repair. I have sent them an email that I will no longer ring cust.serv. that all correspondence must be by email or letter that I am not accepting a repaired t.v that I want a new t.v or refund. I have stated their obligations under the Consumer Rights Act and that they are the retailer and not LG. I received an email saying that it needed to be passed higher for them to investigate, will let everyone know the outcome when it is sorted. One thing I have learned is, do not buy anything electrical from Very. Regards Alamand
  5. Thanks Ford Its dificult with mail order, their Cust Services are abroad and they just follow their sheets, would never buy anything like that normally but the offer was a lot cheaper than Currys etc, turns out not that good a deal.
  6. Very stated that because it was over 30 days, I had to deal with LG. they gave me their number to sort it.
  7. This is the problem, Very are saying the start day is the order date( 29/10 )and not the delivery date(11/11 ), so when reported it was longer than 30 days from order date even though I was only in the possession of the tv for 3 weeks.
  8. Hi Andy Which section am I needing? Some sections say that if its been returned for repairing, you cannot ask for a replacement. I asked for a replacement but they said no and I had to return it to LG. Regards Alamand
  9. I have purchased an LG tv from Very and it is faulty. I ordered the tv on the 29th October and it was delivered from the manufacturer on the 11th November. It started being faulty a week or so later by the sound going off and then a few days later the screen went blue, no picture but had sound. I rang Very on the 5th December who said it was outside the 4 weeks window to send it back because they count the warranty start date as the order date (29th Oct) not the delivery date (7thNov) and I had to ring the manufacture LG to sort it out which I did and they picked it up on the 13th December. Today 19th December LG have phoned me to say thet it is the screen that is faulty and they are waiting for a price of the part. Then I receiced a phone call from an LG engineer saying that it is the mother board that is faulty and he also is waiting for a price. This T.V is less than 3 weeks old with 2 major faults and I cannot return it or ask for a replacement because Very are saying the order date is the start of the warranty. I am going to email Very tonight to state all these facts and that I am extremely upset and annoyed but I would like to know if there is anything I can add to strenthen my case in insisting on a new TV as I am not happy about keeping the original one as it would be a refurbished tv with a new tv price tag. Regards Alamand
  10. No I didn't, I have been reading a lot on the net and don't think you can but I am ringing them about a small little pension from years ago so I will mention it then. Alamand
  11. Thank you for your replies. I think I will leave it alone. It was just an enquiery as I have had to finish work thru ill health and am just looking to try and sort my finances out, with just 3 years left on my mortgage I was just looking if I could get any capital to pay it off. Alamand
  12. Thank you. I will ring the advisory service for advice. I didn't think it would be possible, but thought I would ask, as you say there has been a lot of changes. Alamand
  13. Hi everyone, I am just enquiring about my MPS that I am recieving. I claimed my pension 5 years ago when I was aged 50. I took a lump sum and then a monthly pension of £235. My question is, can i change the monthly pension I receive into a one off cash lump sum instead? I am being finished at work on friday due to ill health as I have polycistic kideys and am just waiting for my fistula to be sorted out for the start of dialysis and also a heart problem which they cannot sort out until I am settled on dialysis which could be at least 18 months away. I still have 4 years left on my mortgage and I am trying to sort out ways of trying to pay off my mortgage as this is the one major worry that I have, I dont want to lose our home due to not being able to afford the mortgage. I knew that this time would come but didnt expect it to start at 55 and thought my mortgage wuold be paid off by the time it started. I just wondered if anybody could help, I cannot see anything regarding this on the MPS website. Many thanks Alamand
  14. So I take the phone to Carphone warehouse and see what they say ? ( Only problem I see with this, is that Samsung have already said it does not come under the manufacturing warranty) Do I also put a claim against Samsung for them taking the back off the phone ? If they do not do anything, is that when I make a claim under s75. Alamand
  15. Thanks for your reply My partner sorted all this out, so its me who is trying to sort the mess out now. The reason that he rang around was to see if they knew what the fault was and because someone said ring Samsung because it has a 2 year warranty, that is what he did thinking that would be the best thing to do. Got the phone in March 2016 from carphone warehouse and paid on credit card. Should have got insurance on the phone but never did as all the phones we have had have never developed a fault and always been looked after ( hindsight is a good thing ) My question is would Carphone Warehouse entertain it now as the phone is worse than it origanally was and that it has already been sent to Samsung and they have taken the back off the phone. I know company's will use any excuse to get out of paying for repairs and it looks like we have played straight into their hands. Thank you Alamand
  16. Hi everyone I have had a samsung s7 edge for just under 12months approx 2 weeks ago, the screen went funny and the phone would not do anything at all, the phone had not been dropped or bashed about. I rang a few places about the problem and the average cost to replace a screen is approx £270, unfortunately I do not have phone insurance. One guy told me to ring Samsung as the phones have a 2 year warranty with them. I rang Samsung and explained everything and they were very helpful and arranged for the phone to be picked up so that they could look at and if the problem was a manufacturing problem they would fix it and if not, they would give me a quote to fix it. today they have returned the phone unfixed and in a worse state than what it was when I sent it. They sent a letter with it saying it did not come under the manufacturing warranty and that they have tried to contact me with a quote to fix it but I have apparently said I did not want to pay for it fixing. They have never contacted me with a quote. The phone came back in a tightly packed box and when I got it out of the box, there was no back on the phone, it was loose. I rang customer services who said that the back should not have been taken off and gave me another telephone number to ring. I rang the number and they said that the fault was a cracked lcd screen to which I said the screen wasn't cracked and they said it could have easily been done by it being in my pocket but my phone has always been in a leather case. They said that they did not take the back off the phone, it must have been done in transit and to ring customer services for a in transit claims form. I told them it was not done in transit as there are finger prints and glue marks on the back of the phone where someone has taken the back off. The phone was tightly sealed in transit, there was no way the back could have come off. Their answer was to take some photo's and send them to an email. I know I am never going to win a company like Samsung, but the phone is now in a worse state than it was before I gave it to them, and they have lied over contacting me and lied about taking the back off the phone. I have taken photo's of the finger marks and glue on back of the phone and the box it came in, but I was just wondering what to say to them when I write to them. Is there anything I need to put across to them. I am absolutley livid that a company like Samsung can behave like this and also gutted about my phone as what they are saying is that the fault is down to me which is unbelievable as its always in a case and has never been dropped. Thank you Alamand
  17. Thanks DX Just didnt want a default after all this time as Monument havnt even put the account on any file. its like I didnt have one with them. Alamand
  18. AAAARRGHH Hi guys Well i sent the SB letter in June to NCO to which they ignored so i sent the 2nd SB letter. They responded saying that Arrow global who are acting agents for NCO are investigating the SB claim and that the letters they sent were to keep me informed of the account and that they would put a hold on the account until investigations were complete. Well today i have received a Notice of Default. The letter is dated 2nd October(received today 14th) and that i must pay £25 before 1st October. It also states that i have breached my credit agreement with Capquest. The debt is supposed to be have been sold to Arrow global who are agents of NCO, I have never had any letter/dealings with Capquest only Arrow and NCO. I am truly stumped as to what to do now and will be they be putting a default on the credit files, bearing in mind that Monument the original creditor is not even on my credit file even tho it has been in dispute since 2007. I know Noddle is not the best credit check but i just checked and nothing is on there. Any help would be much appreciated guys Thanks Alamand
  19. Hi every one I received a reply stating that the acc is indeed statute barred n the matter is now closed. Thanks everyone for your help. Sorry I'm late with reply but when I have been logging on the site on my comp, this thread is not showing up. I have logged in through my phone, 1st time ever, and it's now here. Very very strange. Once again thanks to everyone. Alamand
  20. Thanks I will see wot comes of the SB letter or as you say, if they try something. Just thought it weird that both are at it at the same time. Thanks Alamand
