Just thought I'd let you know that I charge the Banks when they make a mistake on my account and so far it's paid dividends. Play the Banks at their own game and levy the same level of charges that they charge you as the customer when they stuff up. Last September my Mortgage provider called for the D/D a day earlier than they should have. The Bank therefore rejected payment and the Mortgage company charged me £31.00 for the privelege. When I charged them £31.00 for my time and administration costs in pointing out their error, they admitted the mistake and sent a cheque for £50.00, however they failed as promised to reimburse my Mortgage account with the £31.00 debit. When confronted again with my second letter and further £31.00 charge, they again admitted that it was their oversight and promptly repayed the debit of £31.00 plus interest and sent me a cheque for £100.00 for my inconvenience. Play them at their own game.

Got to the LBA stage and it all went quiet for about 3-weeks. Was only asking for £125 but had a letter two days a go saying that as an act of good faith (and all the rest of the standard Bulls*t) that they were crediting our account with £210.00. We received the cheque today. I guess they owed us more than we could account for?
