  1. Hi Lloyds TSB closed my account with them back in 2003 WHY !!, all i can think off is the 3 failed direct debts. I went to them from the halifax who i had been with since leaving school because i was setting up a DMP, they were aware of the reasons for opening an account with them and they would have done a credit check to confirm my details. This came at a rather "TENDER" time of trying to regain some form of stability both to myself and my familys finances. were they wrong to close my account for such a small thing !! Should i send them a S A R if so what details can i submitt. Thanks

  8. Hello all, Finally got a response from NATWEST.. Dear sir Thank you for your letter of 18th Febuary 2007 i am sorry that you have concerns regarding the charges that have been applied to your account We explain all of our terms and conditions including our fees and charges at account opening and they form the basis of your agreement with us.Full details are available at any time on our website and in our branches, and updates are sent out regularly to our customers. for your convenience, i am enclosing our current terms and conditions(including fees and charges) that apply to your account. Natwest has for a number of years provided manyeveryday banking services to customers free of charge when account are in credit or within a previously agreed overdraft limit. These services include access to our branch network, cheques, direct debits, standing orders,uk debit card transactions and UK ATM withdrawals. It is also important to us that our customers have every opportunity to arrange suitable borrowing facilities with us should they require extra funds wheter through our branches, online or via UK based call centres. Whilst many of our services are provided without a corresponing charge, we do make charges when customers, by there actions, request an increase to or the creation of an overdraft in excess of their previously agreed limit. By reviewing such requests we provide an additional service to customers, in many instances allowing them to be paid either by creating or increasing an overdraft. These charges can be avoided entirly by arranging suitable borrowing facilities in advance. For thers reasons, we do not agree with the basis of your complaint. We believe that the charges we levy are for providing services and that they are not penalties or charges for default. Furthermore we believe that these charges are fair, reasonable and transparent. (Second page ) However, having reviewed your case and as a gesture of goodwill and without admission of liablity or error, in this instance we are prepaired to offer the amount of £106.00 To accept this offer in full and final settlement of your complaint let me know by completing the attached form and returning it to us in reply envelope. If you would like to discuss further contact number above. Any charges that properly accrue in the future will be applied to your account in line with our published tarrif and in accordance with your agreement with the bank. Should you be unwilling to accept any such charges, then we may need to consider if we are prepared to continue to provide you with your exsisting banking facilities. Instead we may offer you a simple account that does not offer borrowing facilities or other services that can result in charges I trust that this will resolve your complaint, however i am enclosing a leaflet explaining the options available should you wish to take maters further. Financial services authority guidelines state that we can reguard your complaint closed if we do not hear from you within eight weeks from this letter. If you do need to take your complaint forward, please let me know within this time. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerly Stuart higley customer relations Hmmm...what next ??

  12. Hi, I have a joint STEP account and have been with Natwest since 2004 and regularly pay £2000 in a month , I like to think that we maintain a healthy balance each month but unfortunatley we slip into the red.and now the Natwest have placed another £38 charge on my account , why do they charge straight away when they tell you that these companies will re apply a few days later the bank have all my deatails about weekly deposits . can i claim charges after submitting a claim or could they apply them automatically and possibly take action against this happening again. 13. Hi, I need to ask this question.... I moved from the Halifax over 6 years ago after being with them for 18 years and i still have an roll number and account number with them which i am paying £7 a month off on a D M P for the last 6 years in relation to an overdraft that i had . The balance at the moment is £200:| what i would like to know is , Can i get details from them in relation to costs or charges that i may have incurred since being with them and have them use the funds ,if any to help repay the £200 that i still owe them. I am aware that it may seem a bit longwinded about paying for my debt but, if the HALIFAX have already charged me more than the amount i owe them then it may seem justified..!! or is there an alternative solution. Cheers spuddly
  14. :( [] I am not best pleased with myself for almost bankrupting my family 7years ago had it not been for my calming and loving wife. It all started when i got a job that at the time paid 3X more than i was on so all the credit and debit offers came flooding in and like a kid in a sweetshop we wanted it all without thinking it through. Reality struck home way down the financial ladder when we was taken to court and issued with a CCJ and told that we almost qualified for financial ruin .I never thought that i would break down the way i did... We started using Baines and Ernst to help setup a monthly budget and for a few years we carried on maintaining the monthly payments until one day i came across a site that on second look did not charge any fee they were CCCS. So straight away we changed to the free service. We have been with them now for 3 years and pay £459 through them to our creditors pro rata. 7 years is a long time to pay and I cannot find all agreements from the creditors we owe what should we do next! Thanks Spuddly[/font]
  15. Hi all, just letting folk know i have submitted a claim for 114.84 from the NatWest today, lets see what happens to my claim. got a backup plan ready just in case !!! :)
  16. I am 43 years old and currently on a DMP WITH CCCS for the past 6 years, Bad times... But i have got a £40.000 debt down to £11.000 and not long left ..Good times:-) At first I was with BAINES & ERNST but left them as they were taking a fee each month for there services . My first bank acount was with the HALIFAX and B&E suggested i change accounts to make life easier as i owed £750 overdraft with them. i joined LLOYDS TSB for 2 years but left them and finally settled with the NatWest. What i would like to know is could i repay the balance i have left owing the HALIFAX with the charges that i know i have paid to them over the years i was with them. Unfortunatley i think it is past the official 6 year limit. I owe them £240.00 so could i get them to consider settling this overdraft ..!! I am not best pleased with myself for almost bankrupting my family 7years ago had it not been for my calming and loving wife. It all started when i got a job that at the time paid 3X more than i was on so all the credit and debit offers came flooding in and like a kid in a sweetshop we wanted it all without thinking it through.
