  1. Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows anything about housing benefit and data matching?,my claim has been suspended since the 24th nov 16,for data matching purposes, they didn't inform me of this and I only know because I rang them when they didn't pay the hb,they could only tell me that it was suspended for random data matching and wouldn't be much longer. It has been almost 6 weeks,I sent a message to my rent income officer to let her know but she didn't get back to me and now today she has sent a text saying we owe £738 and she is coming next week to serve a possession notice.I rang her straight back but she had left for the day!. I rang hb again and they said there was nothing they could do and sometimes it can take 2 months and they cant override it or do anything else useful!. Does anyone know if we can make a complaint about this?,I am going to go cap in hand to my Dad and ask him to lend me the money for the rent until its sorted and backdated, but there are many people who will have no way of covering their rent if this happens to them!. Hb said they don't inform you that your claim has been suspended and will only tell you if they need any details from you which I find disgraceful to be honest, people could lose their homes over things like this.It makes you desperately worried and we have no control over it. Any advice would be much appreciated, thankyou.
  2. Hi, Does anyone know where a friends hubby would stand with his paternity leave?,he is a bit confused as to his entitlement as he works shifts on a four on four off basis,he is not sure how many actual days he is entitled to,ie,is it two working weeks,so 10 actual work days,or 14 days in total,or because he works the four on/off is he only entitled to 8 actual days off with his normal days off in between?,if anyone has any input it would be very helpful, thanks:?
  3. Cant find anything anywhere, league or otherwise that says anything, only that abandonments will be reviewed by the commitee, and something about injustice, but nothing that clarifies either way,the ref didn't know himself and the league haven't got back to us yet,I was just hoping someone on here might know so that we can fight our corner with the league!
  4. But there were only 3 and a half minutes remaining, and I am at a loss as to how a 70 minute replay can possibly be justified!
  5. Does anyone know the rules governing match abandonment in football?. Our u14s side played yesterday, and with 3 and a half minutes to go,the ref stopped the game due to hail,he said he would wait 5 min and see if incliment weather would continue, tjhe hail stopped almost as soon as it started, and it was just raining. The ref then decided after a little persuasion from the opposing teams manager,to abandon the game, saying that the boys were too cold and wet to play the remainding few minutes!. Earlier on in the match,he kept the lads in for about 25 min because it was hailing, and let them out, already cold and wet through,to play almost a full half of football,so his argument(which was word for word the opp managers also)doesn't really hold up,and our lads wanted to finish the match, but obv the opp were losing and didn't want to continue, they even cheered when they heard we would most likely have to replay!!. I was hoping someone here might know if we have to replay or if the result at the time of abandonment will stand?
  6. I would guess he had to claim off his insurance(car owner),the poor bloke who owned the car actually saved my nephews life,he heard the crash and went out to help. His friend hasnt been cautioned and refused to make a statement of any kind,he did give him the keys and helmet, but it was my nephew who decided to get on the bike drunk,so his responsibility alone really.
  7. Thanks for being so frank,im sorry to hear of all you've endured. I dont know if he has ever been cautioned,i dont think so,he has been informed of how much alcohol they found in his blood, and the police visited him at home after he left the hospital to inform him they would charge him at a later date, but they didnt know what with as they were still making enquiries. Im not sure how far he travelled on the bike, just doing a circuit of the block from what i can gather, being an idiotic 18 year old lad doing something completely stupid without a thought for his own or anyone elses safety, not to mention his bloody future, hes training to be a mechanic, only a year in,was just about to take his test he could drive the cars in the garage where hes doing his apprenticeship. The sad thing is,even though he couldve died or been permanantly paralysed,im still not sure he has any comprehension of enormity of it all!!
  8. After speaking with my sister,it would apper that he was not arrested as i originally thought, but merely questioned at the hospital, apparntly he has not made an official statement at all, does this make a difference?
  9. I dont remember the blood results, but they were very high. He broke his back and had to have 2 operations, partial paralysis in his leg, rehab still ongoing, was in hospital for a good 2 months, but can walk almost ok now. He is 18,has a motorbike license but not a car, silly boy was due to take his driving test the week after the accident!
  10. Thanks for your help, all hope might not be lost for him learning his lesson after all
  11. Hi, My nephew was involved in a bike accident 6 months ago tomorrow,he was considerably over the alcohol limit, and driving a friends bike with no insurance,he wrote off the bike and a parked vehicle that he landed on when he crashed, and almost killed himself.A blood sample was taken at the hospital, although he wasnt conscious at the time,he gave his consent later. He was arrested a couple of days later, but obviously he was in hospital for some time so he didnt attend the station,i believe he was asked for a statement once he was coherrant, and after he left hospital the police visited him and said they would soon be pressing charges, but didnt say what the charges would be,but since then he hasnt heard anything. My sister is under the impression that there is a time limit for pressing charges, does anyone know if this is the case?. I personally think he deserves to be charged,as im not sure hes learnt his lesson at all,but obviously my sister is anxious that he not be. Thanks in advance if you can help
  12. Thanks everyone for your replies. We have been in contact with the council and they are looking into the issue with the fence, the council man did say that as far as he could tell, the goalpost was clearly on my side of the garden and that i am well within my rights to put it back up!!,although for the moment ive decided not to,i dont want a war with the neighbours(although they seem to have other ideas!!),as soon as the council sort out the fence i will re erect it. As for discussing amicably with the neighbours,i think the fact that he waited til i went out to dig it up,and made no attempt to discuss it with me whatsoever,is a pretty good indication that he is not a reasonable man!!,but thanks anyway:)
  13. Hi Can anyone tell me if there is anything i can do with regard to my neighbour removing a goal post from my garden?. We live in a council semi and at the moment the garden is open plan, but the council have been out to start work erecting a fence at my request, because the new neighbours have small children, and i have older grandchildren who like to play football, and it is safer for kids if there is a fence. The neighbours agreed to a fence being erected. About 2 yrs ago,we put up a goal post in the garden, even though it was on our side,we checked with neighbours first to be courtious, they agreed and even helped us put it up,it was cemented in. Now that the council have been out and started to erect fence, neighbour has complained and had work halted because he thinks hes not getting enough garden, even though the council man decided where fence should go,not me!!. Consequently,i came home last night to find that he has dug up my goalpost, without my permission or even a discussion, which obviously infuriated me somewhat!,so my question is,has he committed any kind of offence by digging up and taking down the post? Any help would be much appreciated, and apologies for the long post:)
  14. Can anyone please advise as to wether there is a maximum amount that can be deducted from your benefit each week if you owe on a utility bill?,my sister is on dla and gets £10 a week taken out for the water bill she owes,is this a fair amount?i only ask because i know that they can only take a measly amount for council tax, which i thought would take priority!
  15. Just had an email in response to signing the petition http://www.pm.gov.uk/output/Page13772.asp Link to the gov response above
  16. Yes,north somerset!!,what a joke, they didnt care less when i was having trouble with the bailiff,i will believe they are making changes when i see it,not that i particularly want to see another bailiff, but if i did at least now i would be better equipt to deal with them!! And as for the name,i knew someone who went by it for a long time,i was always a bit afraid to ask why!!
  17. Hi, If you have the hp agreement to hand, you can prove to the bailiff that its not owned outright, and i dont think they can take stuff on hp,not 100% sure on that though, but if you cant prove it,they wont take your word for it,have they already taken the car?
  18. Hi, Absolutely, under NO circumstances allow this idiot entry to your property, sorry to state the obvious, but as you have read, these guys are devious. Someone will be along to give you more detailed advice, but i would say, make your payments direct to the council, and ignore the bailiff,he will give debt back to the council if he gets no joy from you, just make sure all windows and doors are locked at all times, and dont open door to him. Can i ask which la you are in?,as i know they say they are monitoring in my la,where they employ chandlers and also bristow and sutor
  19. Ok, So,guess who comitted an offence!!,im going to send the cca non compliance letter now, been having trouble with broadband,so couldnt look it up before, but the idiots from connaught have started clogging up my answer phone with stupid "call us urgently" messages again,so i will update again with their response, once i receive one!!
  20. I sure am!! I know, they're nasty!,but they're not getting any more of my money!!!!!,and how funny,i still havent got round to giving them my immediate attention,oh bugger(can i say bugger??? )
  21. Ah,thanks for reminding me,i knew there was something i had been meaning to do,had a feeling it was urgent, but just couldnt quite put my finger on it!!! Anyhoo....................!!
