Think I'm going to fight it. I'm going to contact my local newspaper too and see if they are interested in running a story on it. I do have copies of all the correspondence between myself, UKPC and HF & Co, so I guess I'm as prepared for a hearing as I need to be? I must admit I didn't think it'd get this far but I guess once you take a stand you have to keep going with it...

Got a letter fro HF & Co this morning telling me that if payment is not made within 7 days they will commence enforcement proceedings via the County Court. Called them to tell them (again) that the matter is under dispute; and that two letters to this effect had been forwarded to them. The girl on the phone became really stroppy at this point and insisted that I forward another letter outlining the dispute. Should I just pay? I can't afford to have a CCJ at this point as I am in the process of trying to buy a new house. Bankbustermum

From what I've read here, and elsewhere, I don't find it strange at all... Seems these companies think nothing of ripping us off at every opportunity.

The number for Hunter Forrest & Co is 01527 571060, and the address is: Hanbury Stoke House Saxon Business Park Hanbury Road Stoke Prior Bromsgrove Worcestershire B60 4AD Just received a letter from them this morning saying that having looked into my query (that the issue should not have been passed to them since i'm disputing the ticket) and it says "unfortunately we have not been advised of any letter received by our client and therefore...will continue with recovery action" I have sent two letters to ukpc disputing the case and yet they have "no record". Both of the letters went recorded delivery (although i've lost my tracking numbers) and so can't prove this. Should I just send UKPC another letter or is it too late for this? Where should I go now??

I know that the only telephone number UKPC provide is the number to make payments on, but the Tesco store where 'my' ticket was issued now has a telephone number posted for those disputing tickets issued. The next time I'm in I'll take a note of the number and post it here for anyone who needs it.

I am currently writing a letter to the Debt collectors. Should I include a copy of the letter sent to UKPC, for their information?

B*$!^%*'s!!! Wrote letter stating that I was not the driver at time of alleged incident and that I had evidence. I told them I had been advised that only the driver could enter into any contract with them and that as such I would not be paying their fine and that any further communication from them, other than a letter absolving me of this charge would result in me contacting relevant authorities etc. Yesterday I received a demand from Hunter Forrest & Co for the sum of £105.24. I willl fight this all the way. Don't let these bullies win. Bankbustermum

Aaaargh! Sent off letter, got a reply today which says "liability for the Parking Charge lies with you, the Owner/Keeper". It also says that "As the registered/keeper/of the vehicle you are LEGALLY liable for the parking charge even if you were not the driver at the time." (Is the law different in Scotland?). They threaten that if £80 is not paid by 28th February "a Charge Certificate will be issued and further costs incurred" Do I have to pay these swines?

I write with attention to the above parking notice. As the registered keeper of this vehicle I cannot be held liable as any contract can only be formed with the driver. Any further communication from yourselves, other than notification of cancellation of the ticket and any purported charges, will be regarded as harassment and reported to the authorities. At this time I have also spoken to the local newspaper about these charges whom are considering running a story about this. some years ago whilst being young and sensless I was sequestrated/bankrupt i did this voluntary as the bank charges had pushed me over the edge. It quite frustrating now that since most people are getting the cash back I bailed out. Is there anything I can do or is it just tuff?? i've paid for it dearly with anything on credit being purchased at an exhaustive % rate??? any ideas

my husband is a police recovery contractor. If theres anything he can help with just ask. Winching is part of the recovery, if it didnt require winching you wouldn't required recovery. Which means it was not drivable. If the car was down an embankmeny say and required 2 men to do it safely you can justify a labour charge. Can you be more detailed about the accident and where and if who recovered it (pm me of course with this) and i will try and help you out.

Whilst out shopping with my disabled mother in law i was ticketed by the UKPC. Subsequently received a £40 charge today if paid within 14 days or £80 there after. Firstly the blue badge was on display however lying on top of the dash and lets face it we all do this. I am really reluctant to pay this charge what is the options. It was in scotland just incase there is a law variation. Complained to tesco who were as helpful as an ashtray on a motor bike. I am also a bit peeved that the DVLA hand this information out to anyone who deams themself a bonified company. What else can I do with this???
