  1. Thanks and yes I did mean debt collection oops! I have never taken PPI and am unsure what you mean by the penalty charges....do you mean overlimit fees? Can I also ask them to remove their own charges they add on?
  2. Can anyone advise please on the following: 1. If a debt on your credit file is with the debt management company does that mean that they have bought the debt from the original creditor? 2. If the debt is still with the original creditor then a F&F settlement should go to them? Thanks
  3. we complained the minute we saw the room as the sofa bed was so uncomfortable and it was not what we booked to which we were told we were given an upgrade from a classic to exec room. We were told the hotel was fully booked and there was no alternative. Since returning we complained immediately and referred to the website description of the room we booked and of course noted what the description of an exec room was which we did not receive either. The sleep in the sofa bed was so uncomfortable with about 2 hours sleep that we decided to leave for home the next day and cut short our stay as I was so very tired and with back pain. The hotels response was that they had a group that had extended their stay by one night and had taken all of the twin rooms. I am looking for compensation in the form of some form of refund due to ruining our weekend and my mums 60th birthday stay
  4. We booked a stay with mercure 6 weeks in advance for a twin room and confirmed with the hotel on the day of booking. When we arrived we were given a double room with a sofa bed but told it was an executive room. The executive room was not as described on the website - no free internet/newspapers/fruit bowl/luxury toiletries etc In my eyes they are in breach of contract as we booked a twin room and if they say we stayed in an exec room then their website is falsely advertising the rooms. I have written an initial letter of complaint and am not happy with their response so want to get a little harder with them....can anyone help with legal jargon? Thanks x
  5. I thought they had to stay on there for 10 years hence the reason its still there? I personally dont think it will make any difference to the insurance but just wanted to check my rights if they do withdraw the offer, do I actually have any?
  6. Can someone please help as Im really angry with my employers. I have been with them for 18 months and I handed in my notice in december as I had a fantastic iopportunity to go to but they counter offered and promoted me so I decided to stay. The new role is an engineers position on the road and I gave them a copy of my driving license yesterday. My license has a DR10 which is spent from 6.5 years ago. My employer are now saying that I have hid this from them and they are checking with their insurance company as to whether I can be in the role otherwise they will have to withdraw the counter offer and I have then lost out in eevry way. The counter offer letter I received from my employer only stated a full UK driving license. Can someone please give me some urgent advice. Thanks
  7. Great thanks guys - will get the SAR across to them today.
  8. I sent a letter to Direct Line 40 days ago to request all information held against me but I have had no response - in the letter I asked that if a fee was due then they should notify me as soon as possible. I have had no response or acknowledgment from them. Do I now send another SAR with £10 enclosed and if so do I have to give them abother 40 days to comply?
  9. thanks so much - I have been giving her a steam bath as you describe twice a day for about 10 mins and she is loving it, I didnt realise you could put vicks in the water though?! It certainly makes a difference to her being able to eat a little!
  10. thanks for your advice - thats really handy to know. Can you advise what tests can be done as she is going in for a check up on saturday - all of the symptoms have come out really bad this morning with the sneezes, snuffles, drooling and runny eyes - Im just about getting her to eat with coley.
  11. I thought that might be the reasoning behind it - next time I will make sure they are vaccinated as its such a horrible thing when they go through it. The vet has said its definitely calici though and that is the more common version of the two?
  12. I clarified this the last time and apparantely it wont void the policy but they did say that it just wont cover the animal idf they contract them. What I dont understand then is if they are vaccinated they will cover or the wont?
  13. I have had my policy with animal friends for about 10 years continuous and have a question regarding their policy http://www.animalfriends.org.uk/files/2913/0028/4187/Policy-Wording-wef-14-03-11.pdf 6 years ago Pickles the cat developed anorexia due to a bad tooth and was hospitalised on a drip where she then developed cat flu (calicivirus) - luckily the insurance paid out as the cat was in hospital at the time being treated for anorexia. The vet mentioned when she was better that she would be prone to future bouts when under stress. Pickles has recently had an enema under anaesthetic which should be covered fine however she is now showing signs of cat flu again - the policy states that cats should be vaccinated but the vet had mentioned that it makes little difference as it is the same as human flu and you cannot vaccinate 100% as there are too many strains. Fingers crossed at the moment she doesnt need any treatment for it but I wonder where I stand if she does as she has not been vaccinated?
  14. just thinking about it as well - if I was to take them to court over the costs would they not have to provide copies of all evidence...just thinking out loud here, not as its got that far yet LOL
  15. Im fighting it as I don’t believe the engineers report was ever done on the car – there were so many issues with the repairs that I do know that it wasn’t done within the first few weeks of the repairs starting as I was in constant contact with Direct Line and the garage over these issues. I am sure that the car was given back to me in an unroadworthy condition. It has now also failed its MOT on front suspension – again too much of a coincidence that there was repair work to the front of the vehicle and I would like to see that this was checked over. The repairs to the vehicle were £2500 and the car is only worth that according to glasses – shouldn’t the car have been classed as a write of by the engineer? To me it seems they had to go ahead with the costs as they had pretty much been completed before the car was inspected. The FO have escalated the case and I have applied for a SAR – I too am confused by the clarification of personal data as I have read that if the information is linked to an event relating to me then it can be classed as personal data. I have sent emails to directors and am now following up every call in writing – 8 weeks on and they still haven’t assigned anyone to my case, a complete disgrace!
