  1. Hello All, My Thompson all inclusive holiday started off with a 18.5 hr delay because of "technical reasons". After 4hrs delay, Tompson issued a £5 meal voucher which didn't even cover the cost of a meal. After 5 hrs, we were transferred to a hotel for the night. After an early rise, we were picked up and eventually took off at 12.30pm, losing a day's (all inclusive) holiday. The holiday then went well until Thompson were involved again. Again "technical reasons" were blamed for the delay. After 3hrs we were taken to a hotel where we were given breakfast and a room. Soft drinks were provided. After dinner we were picked up by coach and taken towards the airport. The coach broke down halfway there, and once fixed, it was apparent that the plane was not ready for us, so back to the hotel. Pick up was then 4am and the flight took off at 10.45. No meals were available on board dispite paying extra for a meal, just a sandwich (complimentary, but useless for my gluten intolerant girlfriend). I'm sure we can claim for the return meal, think we can claim for loss of earnings, but can we claim for anything else? Loss of one day's holiday? Inconvenience? Are we entitled to the EU Reglation 261/2004 compensation? Twice? Any help would be appreciated. Phil Taylor

    camera repair

I received a camera for Christmas from my girlfriend, a couple of months later the screen started to pixelate intermittently. I took it in for repair on 29/4 and went to pick it up on 15/5, turned it on in the shop and the fault was still there. It was sent back for repair. I phoned the shop last week to see if it was ready for picking up, they said that they were awaiting spares. They have now had 7 weeks in total to fix this fault, and I am now wondering what my next step should be. Phil Taylor
  3. Just checked my credit record online with Equifax. There is a huge amount of extra information shown online, including defaults and CCJ that is not on the statutory report. Shouldn't the statutory report have included these? Looks like the statutary report is a total waste of £2. Regards Philtay
  4. About a year ago I subscribed to Equifax's online credit report. I had 1 ccj for £100 with 4 years left to run. I also had every line of credit recorded for the 6 year period. A year later (just before xmas) I sent £2 off for a statutary report to both Equifax and Experian. Both reports have no mention of a ccj and many credit records (mortgage and secured loans) seem to be missing. Is the statutary report a full copy of someone's credit report? Why no ccj on there? Philtay
  5. Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking it will be worth pursuing. Not much to lose plenty to gain. Philtay
  6. I have a CCJ that is 2 years old to the grand sum of £100. At the time I had separated from my (now ex)wife and had been forwarded no court paperwork. When I did eventually receive the paperwork I payed straight away, but not within the 1 month deadline. This leaves me pretty much unable to get a mortgage in the next 4 years, all because of a paltry £100, which I would have paid straight away. Do I have a case for getting this set aside? Regards Phil
  7. Thanks for the links. Where I'm having trouble is where it says Can the mortgage company insist that you take their product? Surely a court cannot uphold a claim on the basis of codes of practice (pre 2005). What legal basis can you take this to court? regards Phil
  8. My girlfriend's mortgage taken out in 1989 was subject to compulsory PPI. ie it was a condition of the loan. Were the banks allowed to do that? If not what piece of legislation forbids it?
  9. Just checked my credit file and it has a default. What would be the best course of action, given that I made no mention of amending my credit file in the POC? Phil
  10. Decided to phone Wendy Starr on Tuesday. She was very helpful, seems there was a cockup their end. They posted the cheque to a previous address. BACS transfer arranged and should be in the bank by Monday. Not claiming a win 'till then
  11. This is my first post, so I'll bring you up to date with my position at the moment. I sent my LBA to capital one some 3 montha ago, 2 weeks passed and only the offer of £12 per charge. I then filed at my local court, which Cap1 acknowledged. I then received a letter from cap1 stating that they would be sending a cheque within 14 days for the full amount (inc contractual interest) minus what I owed. Two weeks later, no cheque, so I filled out the form requesting Judgement by default. Last week I received a letter from the court saying that judgement was not granted because Cap1 had sent them a letter saying that they had paid in full. I am now wondering what my next move should be. I'm tempted to phone cap1 head office, then if no joy, try requesting judgement again and send in the baliffs. Regards, Philtay
  12. Thanks for the replies. I think i'm probably safe as I am, but I will CCA the DCA too. Belts and braces job. Regards Phil
  13. I have sent a CCA to the original creditor (Cetelem). They received this on 20/1/07. I have received no reply. Recently sent a letter to DCA with copies of the correspondence. They have passed me on to their legal department who have given me 7 days to respond or they will file. I realise that this may be a bluff, but should I CCA the DCA too? Is it worth getting a deed of assignment as well? Is the statituary fee for a deed of assignment also £1? Thanks, Phil
