Loss of enjoyment

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-46591071 Loss of enjoyment is a recognised head of damage in claims for contracts which have gone wrong.

You might well experience loss of enjoyment if you have a ruined holiday, a ruined wedding, a ruined party – or some other event where effectively the benefit you are hoping to gain is intangible that could be described as 'enjoyment'.

The courts are quite cautious about making awards for loss of enjoyment and you would need to demonstrate that the event which has gone wrong is quite significant. You should keep the amount of money you are claiming quite modest. In a County Court claim you would normally claim for a sum 'not exceeding £XXX' and this would set the limit of the claim and also determine the court fee which you will be required to pay.
