  1. Upgraded 7 days ago today via phones4u but my apple iphone is faulty. They have agreed to exchange it for a new one but I have to send this one back before they will send me a new one. I have explained the problem with this - ie 5 days with no phone but they say this is the only way forward. I have asked to cancel the whole thing but they refuse. Surely if the handset is not fit for purpose and I ordered over the phone, there should be a way to cancel altogether?
  2. Hi My partner banked with lloyds and upgraded her account to gold to pay the monthly fee for travel insurance, mobile phone insurance, etc. Around 2 years ago we opened a joint account with them and then upgraded the account online to silver as we felt this was sufficient for us both, we tried to cancel the upgrade for my partners single account online as we were now both covered by the joint account so it was no longer required. It would not let her do this and told her to contact her local branch. My partner paid a visit to the local lloyds tsb to cancel the account but they told her it's best to keep it open and sold her a load of speil to keep it as an upgraded gold account. She told them that silver was enough to cover us both and told them she does not need it, again they tried to talk her out of it but she says she was convinced that it had been cancelled 2 years later we reviewed our outgoings on where we could save money and realised she was still paying a monthly fee for her single account even though she is covered by the joint account anyway! She arranged an appointment with the local lloyds and cancelled it, again having to keep rejecting lloyds sales tactics to keep it open - I think the main one that they were using was that she would lose the free overdraft facility, the overdraft they have allowed her is only £50! so for £13 a month just for an overdraft is more than if she did not have the upgraded account and had to pay interest on the £50. She told them no and now it is definitely cancelled So she has been paying two fees to cover the same things with the same company for almost two years after she had tried to cancel. Is this mis selling? Can we get the money back for the single account for the period of the joint account being open?
  3. Hi This is my first post so be gentle. 13/4/12 we upgraded to a nice new shiny HTC One X. All was well til bout 14/15 days after receiving it we noticed that when u used the camera there were flickering coloured lines on the left hand side. Wee went to a voda store and was told that the software was faulty ( Not fit for purpose ? ) and it needed to be reinstalled. Did this and then a small orange circle appeared in the bottom left corner. Called voda and arranged for a swap in store. Went to store told " Not happening , call Cust suppt ". We did this and was told that we " should have taken insurance out ". Asked for their complaunt procedure and made a complaint to an agent on 191 then was informed I would have a call back. I call back again and am told that the replacement hand set is in a vodafone store in the next town...... ( Told this TWICE ) and TWICE had a wasted journey as no phone there for me. This takes us to 20/6/12..... STILL NO CALLBACK so I call and speak to a rude manager. He agrees to send me a replacement phone and will arrange for collection of faulty phone AFTER the replacement is delivered as to back up all pics etc. Now as Vodafone record their calls there will b a record of this. The courier refuses to hand over the fone unless I give him the replacement. I call voda after driver leaves and was told " It was a reconditioned handset ". I explained that the cost of a NEW handset was factored into my priceplan and as I had been trying to return it since end of April I expected a NEW. After another row, they agreed to send the NEW replacvemtn out. However I asked for it to go to my sons address which is where the faulty handset is. Low and behold.... the handset goes to my address, and then he turns up at my sons to collect the faulty one. he was in work so no collection. Called vodafone AGAIN and tried to sort it but they are not prepared to sort this. I then siad I wanted to return them both as I am now rejecting the NEW unwanted upgrade as I have lost faith in the HTC brand and also Vodafone. Yes we will do this they say. We will send a bag to your billing address to spost it back and also one to sons where faulty handset is to post back. This is where it gets seriously UNFUNNY...... A courier arrives to collect the handsets and we are all in work. Now.... where do I stand as I do not want the upgrade as it hase been over 7 weeks since I tried to send it back. Thanks
  4. i got a phone call from Virgin Media last week wanting me to upgrade to 30mb. for this i'd pay an extra £4 per month and i'd pay for the new hub [or whatever it's called] but can't remember the price for that. they said something about being on "10mb uplift" so i don't actually get 10mb. wtf? 10mb is what i thought i was paying for! i read something ages ago saying Virgin Media had announced it was offering a free upgrade to all its customers who use 10Mb, up to 20Mb and up to 50Mb services. so how come it's not free? can someone explain all this stuff to me?
