  1. Adapt to your requirements. Dear Sir: I am writing to thank you for bouncing my cheque with which I endeavoured to pay my plumber last month. By my calculations, three nanoseconds must have elapsed between his presenting the cheque and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honor it.. I refer, of course, to the automatic monthly deposit of my entire pension, an arrangement which, I admit, has been in place for only eight years. You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and also for debiting my account £30 by way of penalty for the inconvenience caused to your bank. My thankfulness springs from the manner in which this incident has caused me to rethink my errant financial ways. I noticed that whereas I personally answer your telephone calls and letters, --- when I try to contact you, I am confronted by the impersonal, overcharging, pre-recorded, faceless entity which your bank has become. From now on, I, like you, choose only to deal with a flesh-and-blood person. My mortgage and loan repayments will therefore and hereafter no longer be automatic, but will arrive at your bank, by cheque, addressed personally and confidentially to an employee at your bank whom you must nominate. Be aware that it is an OFFENSE under the Postal Act for any other person to open such an envelope. Please find attached an Application Contract which I require your chosen employee to complete. I am sorry it runs to eight pages, but in order that I know as much about him or her as your bank knows about me, there is no alternative. Please note that all copies of his or her medical history must be countersigned by a Notary Public figure, and the mandatory details of his/her financial situation (income, debts, assets and liabilities) must be accompanied by documented proof. In due course, at MY convenience, I will issue your employee with a PIN number which he/she must quote in dealings with me. I regret that it cannot be shorter than 28 digits but, again, I have modelled it on the number of button presses required of me to access my account balance on your phone bank service. As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Yours faithfully
  2. Hi Please could someone point me in the right direction as to whereI can get the template letter for the 'prove it' letter for an old 3G network mobile bill. This contract was canceled 5 yr ago and they said I should have paid £43 which I knew nothing about!! Now they are saying It has risen to £498 and have put a default on my credit file !! I have had letter from Red, Lowell and now Scotcall, I really want to sort this out as I want to apply for a mortgage in the next month or so and I think this will affect that I have found other template letters but I believe that those are for credit agreements and I believe that a mobile contract is different Any help would be great

  7. Hi, I have been with Harrington Brooks Debt Management for Approxiamtly 18 months. I am now in a position to pay off all of my creditors and cancel my debt management!!! They took a payment from me yesterday (1st March 2011). I have checked their Terms & Conditions and all I have to do is give them notice in writing. I however want to make sure they still distribute the payment they took yesterday as previously arranged. I would also like no further correspondence from their company. Could anyone please help me out with a letter template or what I should say....? Thanks in advance, Amy_J_x PS: For anyone wondering... DO NOT enter a debt management plan... not with Harrington Brooks anyway! I ended up in worse debt than when I started! Even 18 Months on!!
  8. Hi all, Just wanting a bit of advice MBNA have been getting a company in Mumbai to phone my girlfriend, My girlfriend is disabled and can't hear them on the phone, I have explained this to them but say they can not take my word for it or discuss it with me. I have complained to them for harrasment of myself but they told me that because they are not in the UK they do not fall under UK law, which I know is a load of rubbish. I am going to send the template letter asking not to phone, and slightly adjust it to include DDA regulations as my girlfriend feels that she is at a substantial disadvantage because she can't her them. She is one month behind on her payments and we are getting all of this shot at us, I am a fighter and believe wrongs should be fought for until they are put right, but my girlfriend is a worrier. Can anyone give me the best way forward with this and maybe suggest a letter that I can write to propose an arrangement to pay the outstanding months payment? The last letter was not replyed to so I am taking over the running of this fight and I will ensure my letters are replied to and acted on. Thanks in advance:smile:
