  1. I currently rent a property privately and have had a number if issues with it, to the point were i have served notice that should the landlord fail to action repairs with 7 days it will be raising action with prhpscotland.gov.uk So to cut a long story short we are about to leave and don't trust the land lord to return the deposit as in Scotland we dont yet have a tenancy deposit scheme. Am i within my right to do so? I have done it before and the Landlord was less than happy and set her lawyer on me who after a phone call from me agreed it was not worth perusing until we had left the property and then it would depend on state of the place etc. Herd nothing more so .......
  2. Private Rented Housing (Scotland) Bill The bill aims to improve standards of service for tenants in private rented housing. It will change the landlord registration system, change HMO licensing and give local authorities more powers to address overcrowding. Landlords will also have to provide a compulsory pre-tenancy information pack for tenants http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/s3/bills/54-prHousing/b54s3-introd.pdf http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/s3/committees/lgc/inquiries/PrivateHousing/index.htm Lex
  3. Hi. I'm renting on an AST in Scotland. My landlord (agency) is in England. I heard nothing from them about my deposit protection scheme after moving in a year ago, and have enquired again recently but received no reply. I have read that landlords in England and Wales must protect the deposit by law, but have been trying to find out if this still applies if the property is in Scotland. All information I can find is vaguely worded. Anybody understand the true situation here? Thanks
  4. Hello, I was wondering if someone could answer my question. I was made bankrupt 11 months ago. Found it all easy and havent had any real issues ( aside glasgow city council ) 2 weeks ago, I had to take out a loan from Wonga, didnt even realise I would manage it! I paid it back, but I'm worried that I may be in breach of my bankruptcy terms?! I'm too scared to call AIB and ask. I'm sure that in my terms from the AIB I'm not allowed to have ANY credit, OR it wasn't allowed to be more than £500?
