  1. :?:can anyone give me any advice about a loan we took out 10 years ago with alliance & leicester. my husband was self employed when he took the loan out we told this to the advisor but we were advised that without ppi we would not get the loan. we wrote to allaiance & leicester(santander)ten weeks ago and have heard nothing from them .tried to ring but once you get through all the different menus it just rings and rings. any advice about what to do next please.
  2. ]Hi....I have become very aware of this ruling because it is mentioned by lawyers/agents attempting to get a judgement and citing times they believe are unreasonable,to get loans etc repayed.....Does anybody have a clear cut answer for what is the legal definition of REASONABLE TIME.???.. Is this actually fixed or discretionary or have there been guidelines as to what reasonable is? [N]o Judge could properly exercise the power conferred by section 71 of the County Courts Act 1984 to make an order for payment of a money judgement by instalments which it was known would not satisfy the judgement within the lifetime of the debtor or indeed within a reasonable time.” Many Thanks
  3. Hi guys My partner and I have an outstanding balance on an originally agreed overdraft associated with a current account at A&L, now Santander. As our situation changed, we were unable to continue paying in the amount required by the terms of the current account and they eventually closed the account and demanded immediate repayment of the circa £3k o/d, which we were unable to repay. Now 18 months on, we have requested a copy of the original credit agreement from Moorcroft which has been supplied via what is believed to be a microfiche printout. At no point in the last 8 months or so have we acknowledged the debt or made any payments related to it. Prior to the 8 months we had been paying £1 per month in accordance with the payment plan that was in place, but when they began making demands of additional payments that we could not afford, we decided to cease these regular payments and play hard ball for a while. My credit file still shows Santander as the creditor for the debt with no mention of Moorcroft, so I assume they are simply acting on behalf of Santander at this moment in time. My question is, what do we do next? Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers. Burntout
  4. I have a credit card with MBNA this was issued to me when Alliance and leicester were taken over by Santander on my bills is PPC is that the same as PPI and could I claim back from my yeaars with Alliance and leicster?
  5. Hi, I have a loan with LLoyds bank which I've been making regular token payments on every four weeks due to being on JSA seemingly without problem. However, I received a letter today from Wescot stating that I MUST give them a shed load of cash or phone them or it WILL result in further recovery action. I checked noddle to see what was going on and LLoyds have marked the debt as a late payment (in fact I paid early - due 27th paid 25th as it was JSA payment date). After a bit of poking around on here it seems Wescot (and Lloyds I presume) are just trying it on in an effort to get me to panic and cough up what I owe? up my token payments? something else? I start a new job tomorrow so will soon be able to start payments on the loan but in the meantime what is the suggested course of action?
