  1. It was a company called Avant. The original loan was taken out in Jan 2014 and last payment (think they called it a forbearance payment) was made around March 2017. I have no intention of calling, was going to email them, but want to know if they are being a bit naughty with the wording "Resolvecall will be instructed to attend your home address to assist you with contacting us to discuss your account" Plus, should we request any details from them etc? Thanks DX
  2. ACI are a debt debt buyer/DCA, who was the original creditor please and when was this loan taken out?? reSolvecall or scotcall as they used to be known (snotcrawl) like any DCA are not BAILIFFS and have ZERO legal powers on ANY debt - no matter WHAT it's type ignore them and stay off that phone!!
  3. Good afternoon, I'm helping my mum with a debt I thought she'd sorted out - I'll give a bit of background first - a loan balance of around £4,500 which when payments became unaffordable due to ill health and loss of job, she offered £100 a month. They accepted this but said it wouldn't reduce the balance, just keep the loan from defaulting. She told them she couldn't afford to pay this indefinitely if the loan would never reduce, said she would rather stop paying and invited them to take her to court. They didn't, they just added interest etc and when the debt reached £8,500 odd they sold it on. Now two years later, I'm finding out that ACI debt collectors has been sending her texts and emails which she hasn't replied to, mainly because she's too ill most of the time, but I suppose also because she's waiting for court so she can set up a real payment plan where payments will go toward the actual debt, but she's told me today that they've sent an email saying that if she doesn't call them within 21 days then "Resolvecall will be instructed to attend your home address to assist you with contacting us to discuss your account" What the hell does "assist you with contacting us" mean? they gonna hold her down and hold the phone to her ear? I'm about to get involved with it now, but I'm hoping I can get some advice on how best to approach this. Its still a year and a half away from being statue barred because she made these reduced payments. I can't be with my mum, but she's vulnerable and I'm worried about her being home alone if they are going to try and intimidate her. I've told her not to answer the door if she's unsure, or not to let anyone in, even if they demand it but I'm worried. Any advice on how best to approach this will be greatly appreciated Thanks. KB
  4. then send arrows our statute barred letter from the debt collection section of our library and be done with it! attach a copy of the resolvecall letter so they know what you are going on about. forget about resolvecall at your door there is NOTHING they can do they are NOT BAILIFFS tell them to..... else you'll call police 101. dx
  5. it is not showing on any of my credit files I've attached the letters I have had from both companies - global are adamant I am not to contact them i will send a CCA to arrow this evening with 1.00 attached is that ok? resolvecall.pdf arrow global.pdf I am also 98% certain this debt is from years ago - this arrow company wrote to me in the summer but I ignored it as i had no idea what the debt was for
  6. Sar to shop direct not arrows If you think its sb'd go ring shop direct and ask last payment or usage date . If resolvecall have been tasked and youve not had a letter of claim from arrows then 99% it is dont forget a DCA is not a BAILIFF and have ZERO powers on any debt no matter what it's type. dx
  7. I am so sorry I am really confused adn I apologise if I seem a bit think here the debt if it is that shop direct account is from cirra 2004/2005 Global have said not to contact them directly - they sent me a letter last week saying it was being handed to resolvecall and I have had the letter today so are you advising to send a CCA letter and SAR to Global? can I do this via email (currently self isolating due to covid shall I tell the debt agency I am goign direct to global in case they turn up? what is a SAR?
  8. Hi all so do not reply to resolvecall? I was going to send them a statue bared letter - is this not correct? I do not have global arrow details is there a template letter I can use?
  9. Hello I hope somebody can help a company callled resolve call have been sending me threatening letters for a debt I don't even recall for 254.95 from arrow global they are saying they are going to come to my house. Is there a letter I can send them via email or post to query this debt? I don't know anything about it but in another letter they said it was related to a shop direct account which I believe is more than 6 years old so would this be statue barred? any help would be appreciated as I am recovering from COVID and could do with out this added stress thanks you
  10. Type resolvecall in our search of the red banner and selfhelp......
  11. Intrum passing account on to resolvecall and arranging home visit Any advice
  12. please read my posts to date carefully the debt has been sold to arrows , read the resolvecall letter it says our client xxx...they simply are a chaser not a buyer. i have already answered the CCJ situation earlier. dx
  13. Thank you so much for the help. My concern is if it is the debt where the court order was issued but not enforced is it true there is no time limit on that ie six year statue barred doent count, so I can be chased for life to repay it? That is quite worrying for me. If the Court order was given to MBNA call they "sell" it to Resolvecall or do Resolvecall have to go to court themselves to get their own court order?
  14. Re reported post put your new pdf up here and ill swap them pdf now done for you. So.. You have already written to resolvecall stating/from your new address? If you have then that will protect you from any backdoor attempts arrows might have taken to scam a court into enforcement, they cant now. If if if resolvecall do turn up to collect your doorstep, do not engage film them on your phone, state foe them to leave your property and never to return else police101 time. They have zero legal powers as stated already. Job done. All sorted. Dx
  15. Sorry typo its is resolvecall - letter attached. There is nothing on my credit file any more, its all good. The CCJ was never put on it just kept recording the credit card as not receiving payment. I have had nothing from MBNA since the court hearing, no chasing letter, nothing. Ltr from Resolvecall redacted.pdf
  16. You dont mean resolvecall do you? the debt would need to have been sold on for resolvecall to get involved. who are their stated client? scan the letter to pdf please after reading upload carefully. is the ccj still showing on your credit file too please? Dx
  17. This is going to get complicated so trying to keep it simple. I had an old credit card debt I couldnt pay due to loss of income, the last payment would have been around 2012. MNBA took me to court in 2015 or maybe 2017 and the court said the debt was owing BUT couldnt order any repayments due to legal issues I had at the time that prevented it. Basically MBNA got the court order but it couldnt be enforced. Today I received a letter from Resolva demanding payment of the debt which is just under £5,000. I never heard anything from anyone till today. Can this debt still be enforced due to the time limit - is it statue barred or does having an unenforceable court order make any difference to the time for statue barring (6 years)? I have just written back to them and asked for proof of the debt to see what they say.
  18. Ok here an update on situation. All but one of my creditors have put my accounts on hold until 22/11/21, which is fine seeing I was off work sick for 3 month, the time is given for me to get an up to date income and expenditure sent off. The one creditor has been adding interest and late fees on my account and ignored all letters I have sent, I get phone calls, messages, letters etc of them regularly, they have not responded to my original letters to them regarding my situation. I have now had visit of resolvecall agency. I was not in but a note was put in my letter box, I'm assuming it's from them. Do I make contact or ignore them or do I contact the creditor again.
  19. Letter sent and today received confirmation from Resolvecall that they will no longer attempt collection or any further action or communication. They did state that Arrow or another DCA might contact me in the future. I guess if they do i follow the same process. Thanks for the advice.
  20. I have printed ready to send and just received a letter from Resolvecall stating that they have been instructed by Arrow to assist in collecting and if they don't hear within 7 days they will arrange a visit to the property. Do i send the statute barred letter to them or to both?
  21. Just had Resolvecall at my door RE the Cabot debt! I did not answer as he was a rather scary looking chap (I know they can not enter etc) but he has very kindly posted a note through the door.... 'In light of the current pandemic we are looking to contact yourself, in order to understand your present circumstances'..... What has the pandemic got to do with it!!? Any advice? Really do not want these clowns knocking my door.
  22. Received letter today from Cabot advising a company called Resolvecall will come to my door to get me in touch with Cabot RE BOS current acct OD for £763. Also received a letter from Hoist Fianance for another BOS current acct OD £500- had no idea about either of these! I called Cabot (from withheld no) and asked for some info (did not admit debt etc) as I honestly can't remember anything about this account. This is the info they gave me... -BOS current account opened in Dec 2009 -Defaulted may 2015 -Cabot purchased debt in July 2018 -Last payment made was £30 in 2019 but was a payment that Moorcroft transferred to Cabot!? I asked several times if this payment was made to Moorcroft in 2019 then transferred or if it was a previous payment- did Moorcroft hold the account prior to Cabot but the advisor did not know. Then called Hoist -Current account opened in Aug 2010 -Defaulted June 2017 -Hoist purchased debt late 2019 but had been with several other agencies prior -Last payment made was £54.26 in March 2020- £54.26- similar to above, not a payment made to Hoist, advisor kept saying a previous agency transferred them the payment!? I can not find any trace of this payments- was hoping to go along lines of statute barred but not entirely sure where I stand with them both?
  23. std practice if you go self help and read a few cabot/resolvecall threads already here in this predominately self help forum. IF resolvecall do appear. film them on your phone. do not engage tell them to leave your property never to return else you'll call police 101. a dca is NOT A BAILIFF and never ever can be. dx
  24. Hello All - I have just received another letter from Cabot Financial dated 14th August - They state that because they have been unable to contact me they are instructing a company called Resolvecall to visit my home. have seven days to get in touch with Cabot or I will receive a visit from Resolvecall. It's taken five days for the letter to arrive at my home. I thought this problem was over a couple of years ago. Would appreciate any advice - thanks
