  1. I have just completed level 1 training to be a union rep at my workplace. I had a day a week off for 10 weeks to attend. I've now been asked to attend the level 2 course starting at the end of April for another ten weeks. My employer has told me i cannot be spared as we are short of staff. I could go to a course in a years time though. The ACAS document "time off for trade union duties and activities" says the employer has to let you have reasonable time off for union training. Any ideas as to what exactly is reasonable judged as?

  3. Hi, I think I might have got myself into some kind of [problem] and an very concerned. I'll try and make describe my situation as simple as possible, please ask if you need any additional information. I am currently looking for work and was emailed by a company called tech innovations who found my CV an a jobsite offering me a job. I signed an online contract( don't know the validity of this). They asked me to receive money into my personal account and then transfer it via western union. They make many claims than this is all legal and just want to transfer money faster than a business can and said they would give me all the details of the person transfering the money into my account. I have been transfered 2401 pounds into my account from a person apparently with a name that I was given but im not really sure how vaild this is and if I can check. I am now suppose to transfer this money via western union to some other person in the Ukraine. I am scared I am being set up to commit fraud or [problem]med some other way. Can someone please give me advice on my position and what to do with this money in my account? Thankyou for your time Jason
  4. Evening folks cant find much on credit unions here anyone point me in the right direction or answer this question . Do credit union loans come under the statute of limitations act? Have a friend who got a demand from one after 15 years of non recognition giving him 14 days to contact them or the would start court proceedings. Hard to know what avenue to go down as information isnt readily avaialable.
  5. Hi. I have a problem with a credit union in my local area. I saved some money with a credit union seven years ago and have been saving with them up until 2 years ago. I just forgot about the money because I suffered depression after losing my mother to motor neurone disease. I had a visit from a representative of the credit union and basically got told I would have to apply to get my money back and could/would take up to a year to get the money back because they were in a new financial year and might have to wait til the end of their financial end of year. They have gone so far as saying I might have to apply to the government to get my money back. They have classed my account as dormant and unable to bring my account out of the dormant stage. Can anyone help with some advice please. Thank you in advance
